Blackenedsky this kit does not come with a new heatshield, that was their old set-up, they said the stock heashield is better, so thats why they don't include it in their kit.

And am gald things are going good for you, i will make sure to visit this thread later for those pictures

and i-vtec do you?

the R18 makes about 129lbs of toruqe and the Si makes about 136lbs of torque. so thats only about 7 more lbs stock.
But if you still think the Si has a chance agains a turbo R18 you have to be joking me, with 200whp and 200whp and less weight..

I do agree with you on the fact that a turbo Si will walk all over a turbo R18, but what if you spend the extra 4 grand use to turbo the Si and use it on a turbo R18, what will happen then?

I'm not getting the kit to be faster than an Si. I'm getting it to have fun and race (legally) with. I love my car but want more power out of it, so this is what I've decided to do. It's cheaper than getting a new car with more power, because of insurance costs.

Thanks for the pictures, any plan for a video?

And you should intall the stock heatshiel on there to take away some of the heat.

Looks nice man, i can't wait to have mine install.

BTW is the F/IC just going to chill there on the passanger side?

You're quickly trying to turn this into an Si v. Turbo R18 thread. I'll try and avoid that. If you think saving 4k on a car (more like 3k, 2k if yuo got the EX) and turbo'ing it to make it similiar in power to the more expensive car, suit yourself. I think I'd prefer the car that was slightly powerful stock, with more than just the motor designed for performance.

To the OP, are you planning on dyno'ing this once it's done? I'm confused if this kit makes 190 WHP, BHP or 235 WHP. I've read all those numbers so far.

Kit claims on stock exhaust 190whp. One guy got 235 with aftermarket exhaust and IIRC a few small other things.

1) R18s are 140 BHP, so the 127 you mentioned was more likely the WHP.

2) SIs put down about 185 WHP, not 175

3) THere is a bigger diff than 15 WHP between a turbo'd R18 and a turbo'd SI, going by those numbers (more like 40+)

What I'm really curious about is how a 200 HP/190 tq R18 would fair against an SI. You would THINK it would beat the crap out of it, however there are cars out there with that much power and more that the SI can take, and they're more tuned for sporty driving than the R18 is.

Anyways, this thread needs vids or at the very least, more pics.

I think my next thread will be 'I'm running a prototype on Ipro on my car along with Full race's prototype turbo kit. Pics to come!'.. followed by no pics and no vids.

How am i starting an SI vs turbo R18 war if you are the one posting stuff like this, and on average the Si makes 180whp some more and some less.

So don't put words in my mouth, am not starting nothing, i respect the way you think and you should respect the way i think.

And i will like to see a dyno from that one guy that said he got 235whp out of this kit, thats hard to belive out of 6psi.

Actually, you are. All I did was point out some wrong sayings (even pointed out how the person commented on the R18 being underpowered) and you started with the "if you put money into XX, imagine what you'd get if you put it into YY" and whatnot. I think we can all agree that's the most retarded argument ever when you factor in that you can buy a used car for 3k, gut it and build it up to slap an SI or R18 silly for 5k.

reguardless what people say. If the numbers are right. 180-190whp/190ish tq r18 with less weight is gonna beat 180-190whp/140tq stock Si.

I hope OP pioneers the tuning, so all your speeders can start boosting your "rocket". haha j/k

nice work blackened sky, along with everyone just waiting on vids/dyno. looks like a fairly clean setup too. I know from looking over the instructions a couple times they do seem real general. Cant wait for a DIY on this and for you to get it tuned to full throttle. I was just wondering, did you order the defouler with it? and is the CEL on i couldnt tell bc the indicator is just left of your last picture.. nice work bud.

hows txgriff doin on his?? he should be more so of plug n on his for being manual, correct?
