trying we had everything hooked up but the engine was turning but it wouldnt start so we had to fix the fuel injector harnesses that we got(I will go more into detail about that later) and we got the car to start but its off and it wont respond if you give it any gas...so it looks like we are in this for the long haul tonight...but hey at least the car started and there were no leaks

The Si has 197 bhp and about 170 whp stock, more torque, has i-VTEC, etc. The TSI turbo kit for the Si, even at 15 less whp (55 whp), gives it 252 bhp and around - going from stock numbers - about 215 whp or so.

It might be a "good match", but the Si will still beat it even with the 15 whp difference in the turbo kits.

It'll keep up with a bone stock Si, but the torque difference may not mean it will beat it. Keep up, yes; beat, eh, depends. That's still sick output for the R18 and I'm very impressed with the kit. I know a guy in PGH who's looking to buy it for his EX, so he'll be all over this thread.
Not to nitpick, but I see a few things wrong here.

1) R18s are 140 BHP, so the 127 you mentioned was more likely the WHP.

2) SIs put down about 185 WHP, not 175

3) THere is a bigger diff than 15 WHP between a turbo'd R18 and a turbo'd SI, going by those numbers (more like 40+)

What I'm really curious about is how a 200 HP/190 tq R18 would fair against an SI. You would THINK it would beat the crap out of it, however there are cars out there with that much power and more that the SI can take, and they're more tuned for sporty driving than the R18 is.

Anyways, this thread needs vids or at the very least, more pics.

I think my next thread will be 'I'm running a prototype on Ipro on my car along with Full race's prototype turbo kit. Pics to come!'.. followed by no pics and no vids.

well I believe I already told everyone that once everything was on lock and completely tuned, I would present videos and pictures. I have my car tuned to half throttle. We have spent about 5 hours tuning.... messing with the idle, and changing numbers on the maf map. Watch for pictures tonight. I will go home after work and take pictures for everyone. I am sure once you guys get as far as I am, you will find out after some time tuning, wastgate flutters a lot and the kit is pushing about 10 pounds. I am confused that I have a recirculating bov and some of you don't. I love the kit. The hardest part honestly is loosening the belt, taking off the ac compressor, taking off the oil pan, making the hole for the oil return line and the intercooler setup. I actually went a different way when I mounted my intercooler and am happy to say it is leveled out and stuck in place without riveting or anything. The instructions are very basic. I do not reccomend putting this on your car at home if it is your first turbo install, or you are not familiar with changing injectors, working with rewiring, knowing what everything is in the kit and where it goes without detailed instructions...ect. There is no parts list with the kit. I recently realized I did not recieve a new heat shield with my kit. I relocated my filter because where it was seemed to be a tight fit under the ic piping. It is eorking just fine where I have it now. I suggest lots of double checking things along the way. get fuel pressure to the injectors after they are installed to make sure the fuel rail and injectors are positioned right, check water and oil liines. My water return line t fitting had a small leak in it so we had turbo specialties send us new fitting and that fixed the leajk right away. There is a deep vibrating noise that occurs sometimes at loe rpms from when i accelerate from a stop. I think it has something to do with the exhaust vibrating on something. I am gonna get under my car and check it out tonight.

On another note.. I let you guys know that I was having issues with the fic software freezing up and taking up the the cpu memory on the computer we were using. After talking to aem a couple times and doing different tests, we figured out that the program was getting interfered with some other program on the computer. We thought it was strange because this was the same computer we use for a lot of other aem programs and other tuning software. ems, revo ect.. I borrowed my girlfriends computer and problem solved. One more afternoon this week of tuning and the car should be ripping around the streets. Already the torque difference is amazing. Off the line at quater throttle and it pulls. it spools really fast and has an amazing hissing sound. I cannot wait to make more videos. I think this kit is great especially for the price. I promise to keep you guys updated as soon as something new comes up or ym car is running to its full potential.

majority of those cars with similar or slightly higher hp can't beat Si because of weight. but if you have a dx that can put out 200whp/190tq, I don't see how a stock Si has a chance. Si only has like 10 more tq at slightly higher rpm compare to the regular civic which is like 120 something. I wonder how a dx with turbo compares to a stock s2k.

But then again, I don't know the facts when it comes to actually seeing how each car performs so I might be shooting whole bouch of crap out of my arse. lol
