race header question?
i talk to nate today about a race header and comptech sc combined and he said definately NOT recommended!!
i am still waiting to hear back from hondata whether or not it will be ok.. nate said these cars will lean out with the race header and sc .. can anyone give more info ......could it be possible he was just trying to sell me his shorty header considering his header is the only one for this car thats not race style? please let me know what you think thank you! |

they say that so you'll buy there shorty header. theres plenty of dynos to proove its possible and perfectly safe. "afr" wise. we are NOT rsx's. rsx's have problems with race headers because there ecus are not as smart as ours. we on the other hand have no problem with race headers.

I would say just the opposite - a race header has larger primaries & better flow. Race headers have larger primaries & better flow, perfect for a high volume/tempurature FI engine.
The air-fuel ratios will not be affected with the addition of a race header. |

There is a guy selling his Comptech prepared 2006 Si that was a test bed for Comptech products. He has the Comptech S/C along with the Comptech header. If a shorty works, I don't see why a Race Header wouldn't be able to work as well. This is a good question though. It certainly would be worth talking to either Comptech or Chris at RedShift to get their input.

There's a member, to177si he has a BCRH and Comptech SC... his dyno and afr's turned out fine from what he said. You should pm him and ask him about it.

Less restriction means lower PSI with a power increase. So going from a stock setup to a race header you will loose PSI but gain power...And that really is the key Most power out of the lowest Pressure. So even though your flowing more air the PSI acutally decreases due to the opening up of the "bottleneck", yet power increases.
Lotsa guys on here run a race header with their Comptech kit, I am sure its FINE!! ![]()

From what I have read on the forum here...Its fine I haven't personally datalogged any A/F's yet...But a quick search found this
![]() "rh will not make you run dangerously lean on the stock ecu, despite the rumors you may hear on the forum" "rh did lean the car out about 1 point across the powerband, which in fact does not make the car dangerously lean. this is also only at wot." But I dunno for sure, I would suggest datalogging your A/F's if you REALLY want to be safe, but most use it and haven't had any issues.
