Do all forced induction mods require ecu reflash?

I am planning to get force induction for my car, so i am wondering if the ecu reflash is required and if it is, is hondata the only company for it? and does it make a difference if i get the reflash before i force induce the car. thank you

The stock ECM would be fine up to 3,800 rpms.

anyone else wish it was as easy as it is for cobras exc.. to just get a 400 dollar tunner and be done or be able to take there car to the dyno guy and he can directly access and fully program your ecu through the factory maint jack... :/ sigh.
its SOO much easier to boost other vehicles then hondas lol. you could step down the pulley on a cobalt the day you bought it and they didnt have to wait years for an ecu solution. blah.

Yeah, if you stay in closed loop, you are good until you have to trim fuel more than about 40%.

Once in open loop (like WOT), then mods to the MAf, fuel injectors, or fuel injectors will require something more than the lone stock ecu.

So, yeah, basically you need a reflash or other method of tuning. There are other methods that can work like AEM FIC or Greddy E-Manage.

Might be worth the wait.

any of the popular honda/acuras up to about 2000 can do ecu mods REALLY easily.... but since 2001, the electronics have become more complicated and much less easy to futs with.

granted its easy to take a 2000 si and put in a p28 and put hondata on it. but my point was. mustangs exc.. dont need to put in a completely diff ecu from another car and then put a program on top of it lol then have it dynoed. they can just plug in a programmer and be done in 5 minutes. or go to a dyno and directly tune there car. :P
i wouldnt call that "easy"
kpro is easy but it takes 2-3 years for them to make it for each app. lol. damn honda

one more thing. look at the 2000 SI. they NEVER cracked it. if i remember correctly. you had to swap in a p28. god i hope thats not the case for ours. im hoping kpro is a diff way of cracking the ecu to allow it to be programable.
at least back when i modded my 2k si i had to do a p28 and hondata. not that it was all that hard or bad. but point being the stock ecu couldnt be used to tune my set up unless you used a vafc or crap for short.

Are you talking about something like a hypertech programmer? That would be sweet. The best one i have seen is from APR for the Vdub and Audi.

i wasnt complaining but i mean for example my buddy as an 03 cobra. and he got an sct programmer. gained like 30 hp lol and it takes like 5 min lol. all i was saying is ecu options are much simpler for other vehicles cuz honda doesnt like you to mess with theres.
he just dropped to a 2.76 pulley with an afco heat exchanger after market maf and rear diff brace. along with his Intake, x pipe.. full cat back and throttle body and plenum and his dyno tunner got him 485whp with 504ft pounds of torque lol. stupid mustang things a BEAST to drive though.

Paranoid much? Its all good. It does seem easier though. That company I mentioned even goes as far as creating a valet mode. It only lets the car get to 45mph I think. How crazy is that!

when it comes to the tuning aspect... you cant compare F/I from factory to non-F/I from factory. the vehicles were already built with boost in mind and have been programmed as such... with our vehicles they never intended the ecu to know how to deal with it. that is the difference.
