Congrats. From what Ive read I believe the kit comes with some heat wrap for some of the wiring already- any heat wrap you use on piping and so on will completely be up to your discretion and present some minor gains. A wideband should pretty much be a necessity for a turbo kit- to both monitor your engine's condition as well as to be able to tune the e-manage if you have any desire to do so in the future. A boost controller will help a bit with holding your set psi level to redline, however, one of the flaws with the Greddy kits seems to always be the internal wg on their turbos- so you can still expect some drop off. Regardless, however, raising the boost from Greddy's included wg spring will help out a good amount with your power totals. If you want to maximize the power of the kit, and if you are able to, run a 3" test pipe rather than a hi-flow cat. Having a full 3" turboback seems to be the most significant improvement an owner can make to this kit (without going as far as a turbo/injector/fuel pump upgrade). Good luck and enjoy the boost!

wow.. thanks for the input bro. well, so far my car have i/dcrh/evoII exhaust and w/ the turbo setup, i'mma have to ditch the intake and dcrh and i plan on keeping my evoII (i absolutely love it!) even tho i won't get an absolute gain as much as a 3in. cat-back. do you think a local exhaust shop can hook me up w/ a testpipe and a downpipe? i'm a very happy camper once i'm boosted!

No problem at all. The Evo2 will be fine, but just keep in mind if you should want more power later on that there is still some restriction there due to its piping diameter. As far as a 3" downpipe is concerned you can check with local muffler shops, but just be sure that you are confident with their work- this is a vital exhaust piece that needs mandrel bends, wheres many smaller exhaust shops will only have the capability of press bending and due to the movement of the engine under different loads this pipe can crack at the welds if they're not really good. As far as the test pipe goes this is a much simpler piece- just a straight through pipe of a few inches with a flange on each side (make sure that whoever does this for you knows that your catback has a different size piping than the downpipe so that they will use the correct flanges).

I personally have any custom work done by a local fabricator who specializes in piping, roll cages, and so on- he's worked on a number of well-known race cars and street cars. Not sure how far you are wiling to travel, but he's located in North Haven, CT. His name is Mike, and he is the owner of MPH Fabrications- Metal fabrication, welding services. North Haven, CT.

Hope this helps...

What's up man. Sorry for your loss. And congrats on the kit. I have a question concerning the BOV. I thought it was bad to use a BOV on our cars. I started thread about this and Chris from Redshift gave me a bunch of info on how it causes the car to run extemely rich when it opens up causing the car to actually stall sometimes. I wonder if yours will do that. I'm looking into buying this kit when summer arrives and would appreciate it if you could post your progress with this. Thanks man. And again I'm sorry and good luck with your kit.

i would recommend a turbo timer b/c leaving the car on is a pain in the ass. Also I have a friend who has the kit on his rsx with the greddy bov and it sounds awesome. i like it better than the sequential one.

You don't need to leave the car running for a long time. 30 seconds is fine.

To save some money.. Just modify your stock downpipe = 3" to your new exhaust depending if you go with high perf CAT or not.

The thermo wrap is a good idea!

As for the boost controller.. it depends if you want the ability to adjust your boost.. the standard spring is set to 7.5lbs.. and get a electronic boost controller over the manual.. it will cost more but you'll have peace of mind!!

The WideBand is a must!!!!!

Congrats on the kit!!

That statement would be correct IF you didn't recirculate the air back into the intake pipe. Since all the air in your charge pipe has already been measured you can't just dump it to atmosphere with a BOV... it has to be redirected back into the system BEFORE the turbo but AFTER the MAF (mass airflow sensor).

For the visual learners: (intercooler is somewhere in the carge pipe, I just didn't add it)

Correct and that's exactly how it's set on the evo, i used to have stalling problems but once i recirculated it all went away, aldo i've heard stalling isn't as bad on the civic even when you VTA, dunno
