i think you already closed the thread whit the post...
i cant remember anyone who was trying to sell the kit(at this time), or well, thats my point of view, all the posts was informative whit prices, pics and specs of the turbo
i think thats fair to post... since we're discussing about the turbo kit and their difference, and benfits of each one... and we just want to keep people updated

btw just my .02 cents

I apologize if it seemed as though I was being unfair, but here is half of the first post that I deleted in that string:

Quote:
if u want to buy this turbo
it is gonna be $XXXX Shipped
That post, and the ones that followed, are clearly against site rules. I left the thread open so that people could continue to discuss the kits without the for sale activity going on. Trust me, it would've been a lot easier to just lock the thread and be done with it but I didn't think that was fair.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but the rules are in place for a reason and those posts were clearly against site rules.

Usually since atmosphere pressure is 14.7 psi, a boost of 14.7 PSI would be required to double the engine power assuming there are no losses.

In real life the output efficiency of the turbo power would be 65-75% max depending on the tune. So max output at 8PSI would be 197 BHP or about 160 whp only!!!

Pure maths, assuming stock of 140 BHP and no other MAJOR mods...
You're forgetting that boost is measured in PSI OVER ambient so 8 PSI of boost is 22.7 PSI in the manifold.
Exactly my point if at 14.7 PSI (atmospheric pressure) you are making 140 bhp, then assuming 100% efficiency at 22.7 PSI you can only produce
140/14.7*22.7 = 216 BHP

However since engine does not continue to remain 100% efficient, the actual output at 8PSI boost (22.7 in Manifold) would only be say 197 BHP or about 160 whp only!!!

Ofcourse changing exhaust, headers, injectors, fuel map, etc are going to increase that number a little bit, but here we are talking >50 bhp over this calculated number. I don;t think that is correct!!!

Either they are running higher boost, or like usual the numbers are incorrect!

im gonna buy an engine management?
wich one do you think is the best for the R18, i have 3 optiones

1.- e-Manage Ultimate
2.- V-Manage
3.- HKS F-CON iS

the F-CON is the one used by ZAGE byt uts really difficult to get it, cus theres not much places to get it, and you can only tune it in authorized dealers, cus HKS dont give you the interface(sofware) for the F-CON

also, i already have downloaded and installed the GReddy interface(ultimate) but need more info about our engine...
hope someone could help me whit this

well since the v-manage is not out yet,and the hks f-con is hard to find,id say go with the e-manage ultimate but you got to have a shop that has experience with it,theres a shop in dallas that will tune it for you
