New and different we don't even have one turbo or supercharger out for this car, how is it new and different?

and atleast i get happy because i will be buying one of this turbos later down the road, and it make me feel good that the R18 can produce some good numbers

This would be interesting if it was able to be ordered overseas.

I did a thread earlier but it lead to no where except a few stubborn bashers/haters who also drove but civics "ironically" and "contradicting". But meh~

When I was in Taiwan this summer, I did see a few Civics (JDM versions) with SC and was R18 engines but I wasn't able to go to any car mod tuning places to check out what was offered!!!

I wish they just bring the Civic JDM R over to USA, haha

This does look interesting though but I do admit, some of you need to stop jumping the gun without facts. When I saw the title, I was already like eh... China? btw... that forum, I can read it but there isnt' too much info. Def. have to call like the other person did, good job!

245 WHP is pretty good. What is that like 282 BHP? That's not bad considering that more than double our stock BHP on an econobox.

Most cars will lose anywhere to 10-25% WHP from the drivetrain. Most FF cars are getting ~15% loss, and FR cars are getting ~20% loss. AWD I think gets more loss, I actually saw a couple people saying 30% loss with AWD, but I don't really believe that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just good to hear some new news other than the same runaround BS we get from other other manufacturer regarding turbos/supercharger for the R18. At least there's someone else trying to do something other than a huge manufacturer (who probably has the R18 on the lowest of their priorities). In retrospect I wish I had gotten an SI.

It looks like the dyno was done on a dynapack, dont those give bhp which is hp not whp so it would be more like 208whp

Your name says it all.. That's the same power as a supercharged SI and they are QUICK.

400 hp? That's just retarded. I guarantee if someone handed you a 400 WHP FWD car, it would be crashed within days. And if it wasn't, you'd be buying new tires after week.

Back to the subject of the thread...I am most curious about the Tune. What EMS was used if any?...Ive seen the F-con and Emanage both used on R18's. I live near sacramento CA. There is a guy here that turboed his 06' R18A1 with a gt28rs, and used Emanage. car ran like **** at only 5 psi...(he was in the early stages of tuning). But that was the first time ive seen an EMS hooked up to our engine and actually functioning. So it is possible. Im going to see if I can get a hold of him and get the specifics on the Tune if he has finished, and see what numbers the car made. (Ill sneak some pictures too).To my knowledge The only other modifications were a custom exhaust w/ Apexi N1 Muffler, colder plugs, bigger injectors, and a new FPR. This Chinese kit sounds good, but like others have said, we really dont kow any of the specifics, so until they come back with more information, I wouldnt hold my breath waiting for this kit...

On second thoughts can power be doubled with just 8psi boost?

Usually since atmosphere pressure is 14.7 psi, a boost of 14.7 PSI would be required to double the engine power assuming there are no losses.

In real life the output efficiency of the turbo power would be 65-75% max depending on the tune. So max output at 8PSI would be 197 BHP or about 160 whp only!!!

Pure maths, assuming stock of 140 BHP and no other MAJOR mods...

psi is only one factor, you must consider cfm as well. A bigger turbo at 14.7 psi will push more cfm than a small one at the same level.
