3. praise? i won't say that ... but if yes ... i'm not the only one ... there are a number of AJP customers who have praised them for many reasons and have bashed them all the same ...

i can go down a list of people who have done both ...
that's why the site is great ... u have great members who are fair and give recommendations or bash as needed...

eg... blueroadster liked ajp for certain reasons, for helping him with his build etc ... but bashed them when they messed up on his manifold amongst other things ...

and i can go on and on about the other customers as well ...
even those who made complaints about shipping taking too long when shipping hold ups were because of manufacturer back orders ... ajp took the heat and RIGHTFULLY so cuz they should inform customers before hand or as soon as they know that parts are on back order and will not arrive as scheduled... those very same customers who complained had their good things to say and in effect, backing them...

so yeah ... unlike some others on here who just dogged them from day one ... there are some of us who choose to see the good and bad side of people as it comes ...

u live and u learn.
I only go with trusted companies who has been around for a long time. People who have modded their cars for over 15 years would know this. We wait to see whats going on with companies. We wouldn't be in a rush to buy anything, especially not for showing off. I have alot of money to burn, you don't see me blowing it on stupid stuff. If you saw some of the AJP videos, the people and how they worked on things, it wasn't good from the start. One video had a punk kid, looking straight out of high school and he didn't know what he was talking about with the turbo. Then you have the owner with his attitude, thinking he's too good for everyone. You can see it in their reactions and how they speak in the video. It was unprofessional from the start. IF they were around for 20 years with the best turbo in the whole world, then I can understand the big head. In the hobby of modding cars, buying from reputable companies is the only way to do it or you would be wasting money on uselss parts, good example, AJP. Sent useless parts that couldn't even put a turbo together. A more reputable company you can do much more with, then a start up noob company. Yes, I would bash on AJP in the beginning, with a attitude like that, its only time before they fold. I guess you didn't see that in the videos.

^^^Now that's funny.

Hey Blue, did you ever get your tuning figured out with AJP? If not (I'm guessing not,) what are you planning on doing about that?

Nope...See this thread.

I still drive the car although it stalls most of the time when the AC is off and I refuse to go WOT until I can get the tune adjusted. I'm in a wait and learn mode right now on the tuning.

Yeah, I saw that thread and that's what I was referring to. Sorry to hear about that, you must be beyond frustrated. That is what scares me about turbos the Z3 ECU (basically because I don't know enough to own one.) I have learned more about turbos from you on this site than anywhere else and tuning is still an issue. Trying to rep you is just pointless any more (spreading it around is rarely an acceptable option.) Do you have any other options?

I'm kind of at the point to where I don't even care anymore, just like AJP. It is sad to say that, but why create undue stress about the whole situation. I'm trying to look at the bright side.

On that note, thanks for the compliment. I try to share what I know, and am glad to share the knowledge. I have certainly learned quite a bit from others as well.

Other options that I am considering is figuring out how to reprogram the ECM (started doing that), waiting for a K-Pro type of device from Hondata, throwing the towel in, being a guinea pig in spending a grand plus on the emanage and the time to tune, etc.

Well, that really sucks because you seem to be a real stand up guy and totally undeserving of that type of treatment. Any chance that Doug will be on the East Coast any time soon and would be willing to help out? I bet you feel like as soon as you decide to drop cash on the E-Manage, the K-Pro will magically appear.

Cool

I'm sorry you got screwed dude. I bought my '06 EX Coupe almost a year ago and ever since have been silently lurking this site. I think a turbo will bring real life to the R18. Unfortunately, from everything I've read, AJP got the chariot way ahead of the horses on this one. For many months they were touting a kit on their site with nothing tangible to deliver. I almost fell for loaning them my car in So. CA, but became reluctant after their sketchy phone work. I noticed their site seems completely different now and they appear to be dropped as a sponsor here at 8th gen. I don't mean to bash, but from the get go my impression has been that they are completely unprofessional and are borderline scam artists. At the very least, they have no comprehension of being business savvy. The crappy part is that I'm sure there is some talent at AJP, but everyone has lost due to piss poor management.

Jeshua, not to imply that you are any more deserving of the crappy service. I know it doesn't help you guys (and likely doesn't make you feel any better,) but I believe in Karma and those guys will get what is coming to them. You can't run a business like that and expect to keep the doors open. My guess is that you guys are not the first to be treated like this and unfortunately, probably not the last. I'm pretty sure that screwing over customers is one of the key ingredients of a failed business model.

If I or my business treated customers like this, not only would I be out of a job, but out of business before long. I'm glad AJP is no longer a sponsor on this site, but it really doesn't feel like the punishment fit the crime (so to say.) This is the problem with a lot of companies these days; it is all about making a buck, not providing a quality trade or service. When things get tough, lie, cheat and steal.
