I was looking at the Moss/Jackson Racing supercharger... It looks ok.. I was thinking of getting some kinda of roots style blower... I know turbos make more power... I drive on the street and want some TQ...I had a jackson on my 99si and it was great... . but i was wondering has anyone used it... It looks nice.. To bad Comptech is not around.... I would have a comptech SC already... SO what does everyone think?

I spoke with Ryan there yesterday, and he said that it will be between 4-6 weeks before they have kits ready to ship.

I'm seriously considering getting the Moss/Jackson SC. I had one on my '00 Si and ran it for over 100,000 miles before I sold the car with zero problems. The only maintenance I had was to switch out the alternator & SC belts every 30,000 miles.

The Moss/Jackson SC comes with the Vishnu XEDE piggy back for the ECU and the website boasts full tuning ability for the Si's ECU with tuning software included in the SC kit. Is this BS or what? This really looks like a nice system and with a positive previous experience my will is growing weak...

I did some quick research on the XEDE a month or two ago. I only saw it used on Subies, Evo's and Bimmers. I think the BMW may have had a supercharger set up but it was centrifugal if I remember correctly. The rest were all turbo. It seems like a good enough system but as far as I know, no one other than Moss Motorsports has one of those kits on their cars.

The Moss/Jackson kit also comes with larger 440cc injectors. Does the Comptech kit come with injectors? I have seen a lot of people sucking off Comptech, but no one has much to say about Jackson.

That's because that supercharger is a Jackson Racing Eaton from the RSX racing kit. It's been made to work in the Si. It's a Jackson Racing supercharger but the kit is JR only in name. The true JRSC for our cars is still under development. Comptech did such a good job on their SC that many people don't want to be a guinea pig on a cut and past kit for the same $ as the proven product. I know that's one of the reasons why I didn't jump on it months ago.

I have had 2 jackson kits and they where awsome... but this one just looks kinda scary... I am guessing the comptech is the way to go... I am just a little worried about giving 4K to a company that is open one week and closed the next....what if somthing goes wrong with it....

Comptech has been around for years. What happened this past year was a surprise to us all. TypeX probably can provide the best info on what happened and such. I still plan on going with Comptech unless the Oscars at Jackson Racing get their supercharger out on the market soon.

I'm not sure if I understand. Moss Motors produced all of Jackson Racings superchargers for many years until Oscar took an extended break from the business. From what I've heard Oscar sold the rights & technology of the Eaton roots type blower to Moss Motors. Oscar is working on the new Rotrex supercharger (which I think is worth waiting for,) but the Eaton roots type blower is a tried and true application. What do you mean when you say cut and paste kit? Why wouldn't they use the same SC that was develoed for the RSX-S and make minor adjustments to work on a very similar K20 engine? Developing a completely new system for the Si wouldn't make much sense to me.

Comptech makes good performance parts, but I am also a little weary of a company that suddenly just goes out of business. I hear a lot of people say they are coming back, but I've seen nothing yet (and their web site has not been attended too and appears not to be working correctly.)

Moss Motors has also been around a long time making quality superchargers for Miata's, Mustangs, Minis and Honda/Acura imports.

I'd like to see what the Rotrex is all about, but if it takes much longer I may be the guinea pig on this one. The last JRSC I had was fantastic with zero problems.

I've heard that the JRSC kits can eat up belts because the pulleys don't line up exactly right at first. But other than that, I've heard nothing but great things about their products

Can we pass emmision with a SC? That's the only thing that's been holding me up. I don't want to play games with PA.
