Home Made Turbo R18

Whatīs up guys?

Well, tomorrow Iīll start to build up my home made turbo R18. Iīve already installed clutchmasters stage 1 clutch, my injectors will be here in about 7-10 days, all other parts are waiting.

Iīll be using GReddy Emanage (the Blue one)...injector harness, ignition harness and pressure sensor, aswell the software to tune it up properly. This one Iīll be installing tomorrow already, and Iīll be doing some tests that, if it works, Iīm shure that a lot of the R18 owners will like....let me run those tests first, if they work Iīll let you guys know.

Iīll be using:

Holset HX35 turbo
GReddy Emanage
Tial wastegate (a copy made by a brazilian company)
Walbro 255 fuel pump
450cc injectors
HKS SSQV
Custom exhaust
SPA intercooler (same brazilian company where I got my wastegate)

Thats the basic....fuel return line will be made too, Iīm also thinking to do make a secondary oil line for the turbo, and use a oil radiator....but just later, and just if I think itīs needed due to temperature issues...

Iīll post some pictures by tuesday.

Wish me luck...

Amount spent? Need to do some currency conversion....LOL....

Letīs see...about US$2.600...but itīs not done yet. I still donīt know how much it will cost the exhaust (still working at it). Probably it will stay around 3k total, with exhaust.....I could import the AJP kit when ready....BUT, I would be paying around 7k on it, without reflash, because of taxes. Thatīs why Iīm going for HMT.

Thereīs another R18 Turbo down here....K16 turbo, 4 or 5 PSi, canīt remember now (itīs 3:30am here now) 204hp at the crank....for a MT R18, thatīs some really bad numbers.

Off to bed....be back with updates later tomorrow.

Damn firewall.....I couldnīt find a single hole at it to pass all the emanage harness.....but at least the wires got cut, and no CEL (yeaaah!!!)...

So, for day one I just managed to separate the car harness, cut what I needed to cut and clamp the ones that needed to be clamped. Letīs see how it goes tomorrow. Next week Iīll be stoping the car at the shop to get everything assembled.

Iīll have some pictures by saturday.

Cheers.

Couldnīt hold myself...emanage installed. I left it inside the hood, next to the ECU for now. Iīll probably drill a hole at the firewall if I canīt find a place to pass the harness through.

Donīt have any dino numbers, but the first thing I did was change VTEC....and I think (I think, need to run it at the dino) I changed it from "economy" to "performance"....at least while driving, I could feel some diference at the car behaviour and engine noise, almost like the noise you can hear at the D-Series when VTEC engages. Iīll be runing it at the dino saturday too....gonna be away from town the next 3 days (I need to work....lol)...almost forgot, a friend of mine manage to do the same thing using Unichip + VTEC control....he has a dino sheet (dastek dino) and will be uploading it sometime today.....Iīll post it here when I get it.

Anyway, I had no CEL so far, I think I wonīt have it unless I push the tune too hard....so, see you guys saturday....
