3 STAGE I-VTEC, Electrocharger, Electric motor EVO (1520tq), Air Motor

Check out the video of the 3 stage i-vtec + IMA

I'm into other sources of energy to power cars such as solar power electricity, and hydrogen. Yeah, you could say i was really bored today...Here are some things I found, check it out

An electrocharger, replaces the alternator and runs in parallel with the engine to increases the initial acceleration of your car from idle. About 30-60% better fuel economy in which provides faster acceleration and power from a stop. They should be retrofitting an Electrocharger onto a Mitsubishi EVO VIII for testing purposes.

check it out - electrocharger

An Evo Powered by 4 electric motors.
270HP, 1520lb-ft (67.5HP, 380lb-ft x4)

A Rotary AIR ENGINE

^ Yeah, talk about smoking tires.

Looks interesting, great alternative to help out the environment that's for sure.

electrocharger + turbo =

the electrocharger could kick in right away, and as that fades out the turbo spools up

and when you're trying to save gas you use the electrocharger's power and stay out of boost

well, actually in some ways more power = less fuel usage, because you don't have to use as much throttle to get up to speed. This has been hypothesized as one of the reasons people are getting better fuel economy in the Sis compared to the r18 civics (in certain cases).

but in this case its because the added power is from the electric motor, which doesn't use gas, meaning you accelerate faster, and therefore use the gas motor (with your foot down) less, and the power for the electric comes from the gas motor, but it is energy that is given off whether the electric motor is there or not.

I wonder if power:weight is an issue considering the extra weight from the motor assists. Are there any reasons they used SOHC over DOHC? Anyone know?

the car is so smooth and has decent acceleration, i mean cmon it only has 110 hp. it looks small from outside but inside is a whole different story. the hatchback style give so much room for the trunk. the back seats had a lot of leg room and the stock sound system was great. i didn't really have a choice of buying it because one day i came home and i saw it in my garage with a sticker price on the side of around $21k. my first expression was... WTF im not driving this thing it is so FUGLY. but then i saw the mpg rating which was 50mpg city 60 hwy and i was like hrm..... so i owned the car for 11,000 miles and then one day it was a pretty rainy day so... IT FLOODED. went through insurance claims and such for about 2-3 months and then one day i came home from school and there was a brand new 07 civic si sitting my garage... i think i almost cried that day because it was so sexy. only thing is... im in high school and i have to pay $400/month for it + gas = one broke ass mofo. anyways i dont know why im going on and on. SO BOORED ON THIS SUNDAY MORNING
