Eaton M62 roots supercharger gearing video

first shift light comes on at 3krpm, 2nd shift light comes on at 4krpm and the last one comes up 200rpm before redline <7krpm>

sorry 4 the lack of sound, as u can see, a roots boosts fast as hell. Max boost is 12.5 LB of boost. anyone got a similar video of a centri charger? I bet it doesnt boost this fast!

enjoy!

by the way, i can take my m62 to about 22LB of boost. imagine all your boost, there, asap! A centri with that much boost will take how long to wind all the way up? Right before redline huh? All i have to do is slam the gas, and bam, 100% boost.

ROOTS>CENTRI
boosts faster>takes to loooooong
lasts longer>can brake down
sounds better at WOT>funny vibration sounds

sorry 4 the flame, just had to get my point across. The only thing that I find better about centri chargers is the fact that they can be mounted very easily.

wow, a supercharger hitting boost fast? who would have thought.

Being able to control Boost must suck with the whole pulley changing and shit you have to do. God bless controllers.

its all good homey, i tune my own car. controlling boost is never an issue for me, and i already dropped larger injectors and reflashed my car so it can controll the new squirters and extra 5LB of boost, plus i got a shorter, stronger belt going in that bad boy too. Between pulley and injectors i dropped less than $250.00. With a good launch, and nice power shifts, 13.5 FTW!

I made the video for one reason and one reason only. To prove the following: choose a turbo if you want outstanding top end. Choose a roots/twinscrew if u want instant boost. Dont waste money on a centri. Your top end wont be as great, and you wont boost fast. Why waste money on it? The only reason I can think of is cuz space is tight. Ill get u guys a video with sound tommorro

i would feel bad if one of the guys wasted there $ on a centri. Go turbo or all motor or roots. Dont buy into that centri crap, sure, mustangs make great numbers on them, but grap 3 SI's, a roots blown si with 300whp. a turbo si making 300whp also, and a centri charged si making 300whp also. who's gonna cross that finish line first?

had a supercharged vehicle, said the same thing about immidiate boost......but change the pulley all you want, your just adding more heat with the boost.

hence why ive got a dual pass and front mounted heat exchanger. i cant get AIT2 past 90 degrees. BLU, i thought of everything. Im no genius, but at the very least I know what im doing. what size super charger where you running? What cooling system? Core numbers? On the stock EATON M112 on the cobra, pulleying it down with full bolt ons and reflash is good for about 420whp and 490wtq. Atleast thats what my friend dyno'd at steeda.

old school bro, M90 3.8L supercoupe.

+1 on the heat exchanger, the supercoupes intercooler was weak. front mount helped though.

and between me and you, i love SCs more than turbos.

m90 gets alot of crap but never heard of swelling or heat soak with it. we're also talking gm and ford here? or are they all eatons?

i love 89-95 supercoupes, 340lb/ft drool.

i love those supercoupes too, there eatons also, iirc. honestly, its been a while since ive one too. the last one i saw was running a M112 supercharger swap. Im swapping mines as soon as the new TVS eatons come out next summer.

http://news.thomasnet.com/fullstory/497582/3287

they have this crazy helix design, there considered to be roots blowers, but they are actual hybrids. they compress at the supercharger <like a twinscrew> and in the manni <like a roots>.
