ok... question.

1.) Is is essential for me to use the "crush tool" that comes with the CTSC Kit on my walbro for the ID1000's to run right?

2.) Has anybody been running the ID1000's without crushing the damn thingy?

Your not crushing your walbro, your crushing your FPR. It should run fine with the stock pressure, just atomization won't be as good at the lower fuel pressure. You have plenty of over head with those injectors.

that's what i meant, sorry it's been one hell of a weekend....

when you say "wont be as good", the only time I should see that being an issue is in the higher rpm range, where I'm most worried about detonation, and knock...

They seem to idle even smoother at the higher pressures too. You'll be fine man.

Just to chime in here. This is an excellant thread, and thanks 100x over to everyone who put theyre input in. I really had no idea how damn complicated the fuel system could be til i started trying to figure out the best setup for my ride. After reading this thread I have to admit im still a little boggled on a few things, but I definatley learned alot. Now the only thing im worried about is getting my set up properly tuned.

Stock fuel rail is plenty. I had to run a aftermarket rail because of the fuel return.

If I remember correctly, I began having the cold start (regardless of outside temp) issues after I installed the 650cc injectors. (takes foreeeeever to start...)
Did anyone else have this problem? And if you did, did it go away when you installed the ID 1000's?

I think FPM gives us some wack cranking percentages when we up the injectors. Just takes a little more tuning.

I know the feeling. start by adding a little fuel. its a tough one because it only happens when the engine is cold.

To really troubleshoot this, you need to start datalogging every start.

When you have a bad start up, look at the ECT it happened at, find that in the fuel coolant compensation cranking table. Once you've done that, look at your datalog about 10-12 seconds after the car starts you'll see the o2 sensor come on. It'll immediately read either really rich or really lean.

When editing the cranking ECT comp table, do it in very small increments. If the value you are adjusting is -80%, try .5% adjustments at a time, if it's closer to -40% try 1% increments.

If it's really lean (when the o2 first comes on), try increasing the fuel in the ECT cranking comp table. So if the value you want to edit is -70% and you want to add 10% fuel, you would change the value to -67%.

If it's really rich, try decreasing the fuel in the ECT cranking comp table. If the value you want to edit is -70% and you want to remove 5% fuel, you would change the value to -71.5.

This math is based on the Hondata help file. I popped their equation into an excel spreadsheet really quick to get the calcs. You can do the same very easily.

I tried datalogging the start-up before but it didn't work. Does it have to be connected to the laptop?

Ya I have the same problem tring to datalog during start up. So I came up with a technique to see if it's rich or lean durning startup. I pull the vac line off my bov, squirt some starting fluid into it. If it fires right up then I add some fuel to the ect comp table.

Make sure you have the newest (beta) version of FPM. It'll update your FP firmware. They fixed the issue with datalogging startup a long time ago. It works flawlessly for me. Just put the key in on, wait for the FP to show power, push the datalog button and start the car.

When updating to the newest FPM, make sure you also open and save/re-upload your cal to the FP and then flash the car first. They changed some stuffs with how certain things are datalogging.

Sweet, your right. It did work. ;D I had went and tried it again before reading this and it worked. I was really flustered b/c I swore I did it that way last time. Lol. Glad they updated it. I did a datalog so I'll try and get that on my compie and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks.
