True Cost of Force Induction: What did you Pay?

Hello everyone,
After doing a little research on the matter I have decided to go the turbo route.
But as I am a new to this I thought it would be wise to listen to the opinions of those who have firsthand knowledge on the matter. Therefore I created this thread to help new comers understand the financial aspect of forced induction.

So here is my question:
What is the True Cost of Boost?

This includes the cost of the kit, tuning, and the amount of time.
This is in no way meant to start an argument over which kit is better, it is merely a way for everyone to see the cost of each individual kit, so please don’t argue over which is best.
In order to keep this thread as clean as possible please follow the rules

*No selling/Trading
*Stay on topic
*No Spamming

Please follow this “example post” as a guideline

***Example Post***
Brand of Kit: Generic
Price of Kit: $5000
Installation Cost:$1000
Hours Spent Tuning: 4
Price per Hour: $150
Additional Parts needed (Stuff not included in the kit): i.e. Flashpro($675), injectors, fuel pump, etc.
Total Money Spent: $7275
Horsepower: ???whp
PSI: ??psi
Comments: Problems that arose and how they were resolved.

Price per Hour: $150
Additional Parts needed: HKS BOV w/ recirc. ($190), AEM TRUboost + AEM UEGO Wideband ($300), eBay Testpipe ($90), Fast Turbo Oil Return Kit ($120), Plugs ($40),
Total Install Spent: $900
Total Money Spent: $4840
Horsepower: 274whp
PSI: 10.5psi
Comments: Sold it right before flashpro dropped, would have made more power. This is what I can remember that was relevant to the turbo kit. I spent money on other things such as motor mounts, short shifter, etc.., but they're not actually needed for boost.

I also bought things such as a walbro fuel pump and some bigger injectors to upgrade a little, but I won't include them as I never installed them. I only included what I thought was absolutely necessary to be boosted. Anyways, I hope this helps OP!

Total Money Spent: $6845

Comments: Ran perfect till the day i sold it, and is still running perfect on the next car. Sold it before stage 2 and tuning were released or i would have been well up to the 3xx mark.

Comments: Oil line supplied with the kit broke, oil was leaking for a while. Had to upgrade injectors since the ones supplied with the kit are too small. A downpipe/exhaust combo is recommended. Manual boost controller can't hold consistent boost, hence the low hp numbers. EBC should fix that problem once it's set up.

For those of you turbo guys with big numbers make sure you include the price of a clutch/flywheel

Every mod done should be included, just so people know what to expect, including exhaust, spark plugs, test pipe/downpipe, gauges, fuel pumps, injectors, wrap, etc

Brand of Kit: SRT CUT Kit
Price of Kit: $5700 (minus Vibrant exhaust)
Hours Spent Tuning: 1
Installation/Tuning price: $1400
Additional Parts needed: Greddy TiC exhaust (not rec. for turbo setup) $500
Total Money Spent: $7600 (+ shipping, Royal Purple Oil, all in all about another $200)
Horsepower: Not dyno'd

Comments: For this much money why not just sell it and get an STI? Lol because Hondas are sexy. My latest purchase were new tires and wheels that are wider to handle the added power...another $2000 (Work wheels!)

Brand of Kit: Greddy Kit
Price of Kit: $3800
Hours Spent Tuning: 2-3 hrs on Emanage
Installation/Tuning price: $1000
Additional Parts added: Walbro 255, AEM Wideband,Boost gauge,Upgraded oil line,Vibrant muffler and custom 3" TBE, Comp Stage 2 clutch and flywheel, Apexi Turbo timer.
Parts ordered but not installed yet: Precision 680cc, Flashpro.
Total Money Spent: Around $6700
Horsepower: 240WHP prior to Flashpro and the 680cc injectors. Should be a giant leap in performance without having the injectors maxed out and a excellent tuning solution in place instead of the crap-manage.
PSI: 8

Absolutely no problems with the kit and its spools up incredibly fast. With the larger injectors and FP in place it should be perfect for my power goals (270whp-300whp).

I'll be totally honest... the true cost of boost is roughly TWICE as much as it looks on paper (to have a complete setup with tuning, everything running smooth and SAFE). There it is.
