Opinions Greddy or AJ Turbo Kit?

So what does it come down to I have heard oh oh its the Greddy Turbo but I am a lil weary on that because i hear nothing but BUGS BUGS BUGS i mean i know that there will be bugs in everything but i have yet to hear anything about the AJ Kit besides the price but from what i understand its because the Marive kits comes more well equiped. well what do you guys think????

Although there's bugs in GReddy Si Turbokits, I think they would be more reliable in the long run. GReddy = 1 of the largest manufactures of japanese aftermarket products in the country. I'm pretty sure, if shit happens to their turbokits, they will be able to back up their product.

Marvie Kit - AJ performance... its just a regular shop in florida that made their own custom kit using other manufacture turbos and products. If your going to do that, You mind as well go to a custom intercooler/turbo shop and have them make you one which would probably be around the same cost or maybe less.

So I would say go GReddy or dont go Forced Induction yet.

it's no regular shop....

skunk, spoon, hondata or even Ro Ja all started out small...u need to start somewhere...regular shops kick the ass of big shops all the time...u make very ignorant comments

yes greddy makes it's own turbos and all that crap...and they are like the only ones....almost every other turbo kit company out there uses turbos and parts made by other companies...so that point is mute.

ever wonder why most RSX-S drivers that go forced induction DON'T by greddy? cuz there's full race and other companies that use other manufacturers products like garret and turbonetics to make a better kit than greddy.

if u soo worried about a company that uses the best parts to make a damn good kit then u shouldn't drive a honda....cuz honda uses parts from other companies to make their Si...have u checked ur brake calipers? they are not Honda, neither is ur radiator, ur alternator, and a slew of other inportant parts on the car....u'll find, denso, Nisin, and a bunch of other manufacturer parts on ur "HONDA".

yes u can have a custom kit made for u...but when shit starts to go wrong, u don't have a company to back up the product...you'll be on your own to deal with ur crap.

AJ Performace will stand by their product!! unlike what this guy makes it seem.

Greddy = enuff power for the average driver, and when all their bugs are worked out from the sub par kit reliability and all the other stuff comes with it....but will cost u more to upgrade if u want to(ie BoV, boost controller, bigger injectors, differen maifold + turbo upgrade etc etc.)..

AJP = driveability NOW, reliability NOW, the ability to make crazy power if u want or low power (300whp) at low boost settings without having to spend money on other stuff turbo related in the future...so u can have best of both worlds...it's a more flexible kit...

oh and next time search...it's been covered before.

PS....i think mitsubishi actually makes greddy's turbos...
Garrett makes Precision's turbos.....

Yeah so this little shop called Comptech doesn't make their own chargers... what's that say about them?

LOL, I'm not saying AJ Performance is a bad kit. I'm just making a point in my opinion on which I would go for in terms of the tuning and the reputable name of each brand.

my experience, ive always used Greddy for Show, never Go.

their parts look nice and polished and what not, but i would not rely on them for pure performance.

My old Prelude had Greddy intakes and exhaust cause theyre the most easily visible. Turbo and headers i used more reputable companies like turbonetics/weaponR. Its more expensive, but worth the investment IMO.

Get the Marvie kit. It sounds awesome. "What're you running?"

"Marvie."

I'm not sure where the manufacturing is done, but GReddy's turbos are all based on Mistubishi designs, just as Precision uses Garrett designs. I can't speak for Mitsubishi/GReddy quality, but I can say that Garrett makes high quality stuff. I know what the parts have to go through to get certified and I've seen parts that get sent back to be scrapped or melted down for recast. The standards are pretty high there.

You said that for the price, you might as well get a custom turbo.... Isn't that essentially what the AJ kit is??

I went GReddy, i don't regret it but agree that i should have waited a bit longer. It's not a bad kit but there are some bugs. No warranty on the GReddy kit either. You probably run the same risks going either way. My only question about AJ is it's engine management. Nobody has given me a real answer on that one including AJ. Anyone know the story on that?

most i can say is...much like full race and all the other kit makers out there apart from greddy...u don't get management...but AJ is going further to make sure if u buy the kit, u can run it....

they have 2 solutions u can work with...and i'm not about to say cuz it's not my place to do so...i suggest u contact them or maybe they'll see this thread and decide to get on here an let it be known...

honestly, if i was on the east coast i would go AJ. Without knowing exactly how there whole kit goes together, it still seems like it's more versatile.

I Think its time to let the cat out of the bag. The AJP kit was originally desigfned and tested for an estended period of time to run on our custom fuel system We has tested the vehicle with a stock fuel system, return system with rising rate regulator. We have a run a majority of piggy back systems including a fully functional emanage. The kit is setup to run with the combination of the modified fuel system that we provide with the kit up to 6-7 PSI reliably without any hiccups.

****We have also been woring with Hondata regarding a customized reflash for the kit. the complete eflash will be released in the next coming weeks. We have the Beta versions running currently but will not begin the release until the proper testing has been done and we are completely satisfied with the end result. The reflash will include a matched set of injectors specific to the kit. Anyone wishing to purchase a reflash kit will have to have purchased a AJP kit prior. This allows us to gather data as well as make sure your kit operates completely as designed before introducing the reflash into the equation. This also limits the sales of the reflash to AJP customers only.

Wow...not that I'm a fanboy or anything, but your comments couldn't possibly be any more ignorant....well....maybe. Just because you've never heard of something doesn't mean it's not reputable (or brand name for that matter). There are people everywhere who've never heard of Nike or Reebok. There are people who listen to hip-hop who've never heard of Def Jam. And there are people in the automotive industry, who've built plenty of turbos, but've never heard of AJP. *shrug* That's why you ask questions...

I don't think he'll need the Marvie kit. I only needed the basic, but then again, I have different plans than Marvie.

Finally the truth. I like the sounds of this one. AJ with Hondata. Wonder if they would consider a partial trade for my GReddy kit.... keep dreaming huh? Hopefully GReddy will help me work out the bugs and then i too can hail fire and brimstone concerning there products.
