You talking about speed?

As for handling, a bigger rear sway would be a huge difference followed by a set of good tires.

Best bang for the buck is a straight pipe but it will make your car sound raspy. I would say in my opinion the most popular mod is an intake.

My friend has a down pipe on his Srt4. If we were to get one would it sound "thundery" like my friends car or is the downpipe for specific cars?

our cars would never have a dp unless u turbo it and no it wouldnt sound like an srt-4 because their set ups are competely different, although a turbo'd si would sound rediculously good

my mods already are

Fujita SRI
HFP Exhaust (gonna change)
Comptech SS
UR pulley kit

best bang for the buck is a Zex or comparable nitrous kit - $700 for a nice setup w/ remote opener and bottle warmer and you choose betwee 55, 65, and 75HP at the wheels. no other mod provides that kind of power for our cars. of course, you kinda gotta know what yer doin first.

Tires.
You can do all the mods you want to the engine, tranny or suspension, but with a poor set of tires, it will all be wasted.

^^ touche. but he's asking about power upgrades. I love getting a brand new set of sticky tires though. I can't wait til these Michellins go.

amen man, amen

Question is, will the paint start flaking off in 3 ft^2 panels like the Neons do after a good 2 years of life?

this is true, but i would only recommend doing when you are racing.... i wouldn't leave it that way all the time. i picked up a rock that worked its way into the path of my velcity stack on my pte red and well that was a $1,500 turbo gone in a heart beat, i was lucky it only trashed the turbo and didn't make it's way into the engine. i ve seen bolts get sucked in on drag cars before, the outcome is not pretty.... oh yeah i picked the rock up off a race track... figured it was in someones tire or came out of the bed of a truck. i figured i was safe not running an air filter on the track, but those are the risks you take

I've seen people put a wire mesh over the stacks to keep that from happening.
