AEM CDI Pencil Coil

AEM’s new CDI Pencil Coils are now available! Easily allowing the conversion to coil-on-plug ignition systems, these Pencil Coils will work with aftermarket engine-management systems. Additionally, when Pencil Coils are used in high-boost, high-RPM, or high-compression applications, an increase in spark energy can be seen over factory smart coils.
anyone running these on there car ? anything noticeable ? and what the heck is a cdi ignition module ?

AEM - CDI Pencil Coil

Must be used with CDI ignition module

I don't see one for k20z3, seems like a waste of money.

I remeber reading a while back that someone here was using this setup just don't remember who it's about $280 shipped for all 4 but if you NEED a ign module then might be a little too pricey for a better stronger spark ,
Wish we had a 2step available or MSD ign or something

There's a few semi built bseries by me with 2 step sounds so sick

The factory ignition is fine. The spark plug is only going to use as much voltage as it needs to jump the gap, no more no less. Say your factory ignition coil(s) are capable of producing 40,000 volts and while in boost (the time the air is most compressed thus providing the most resistance) you only need 30,000 volts, the spark plug is only going to use 30,000 volts even if you have 'better' coils that can produce 80,000 volts unluss you just want to have loads of reserve voltage.... If your looking for a longer spark you need to step the amperage up.

useless.

Honda engineers design our cars to run just fine on the coils they put in the car already.
