i plan on getting the hondata reflash for my car soon, but currently i have an AEM SRI installed on my si. Will it have a negative affect cuz its an SRI or do i have to buy a CAI to get the most out of the reflash. Please help!!

Hondata's site says "an intake" so wouldn't think it would matter. probably would help a little with CAI but cant see it making that much of a difference.

Personally I don't think the SRI offers the performance gain like the CAI does since it still is sucking in HOT air from underneath the engine compartment.
So to get the best possible gain from the Hondata reflash I would suggest a Cai and at least a Cat back exhaust. The better breathing the better or you may end up with worse performance than before.

That said I think there are better mods for 500 +bucks than this reflash.

So except the VTEC kicking in sooner is there any noticable difference in accelleration? Faster off the line? More torque??

Better gas mileage?

yes...yes....and yes,i just got mine reflashed and you can tell a BIG difference. You gain between 25-34 horse power in the mid range and the red line is now at 8600 rpm.Its the best thing for the SI out for only $595.00

I can only speak from my RSX experience, but the reflash was by far the best mod for the money. Most power/dollar. The SRI is fine, I would look into at least a better flowing cat-back exhaust unit too though if you are getting the reflash. It doesn't sounds or look like much on paper, but you really do feel and see the gains from the reflash.

Is there a bunch of different reflash settings? just curious because alot of people seem to have the reflash, and, some have the IMG whats (IMG) mean? and you send your ECU to Hondata, and they reflash it? what are the specs or is there a setting that Hondata uses to do this? for all ecu reflashes?

IMG = intake manifold gasket.

for the Si, it's just one tune, they reprogram it and everyone gets the same tune. the amount of power you get depends on the mods you get to compliment the tune... for example if you look on their page ( http://www.hondata.com/reflash_06_civicsi.html ) you'll see you get minor gains with just a cold air intake.... but comine an intake AND a race header, and you'll see much larger gains.

You can't tune the reflash, it's just one setting. Whenever they release the K-Pro for the 06Si, you can tune that. It will have a USB connection. You can download the software for free from their website, hook your laptop up to the K-Pro and tune it like that. I can't wait. I heard it's supposed to come out at the end of the year, but I don't have anything to back that up, just word of mouth.

I do know this though. I was at the dyno day they had at st00pidfast (thanks cargirl) and the guy before me was an RSX-S and he put down 170whp with short intake and short header. They asked him on his final pull if he wanted them to use a K-Pro they had there. They put it in his car and didn't tune it or anything, just used it the way it was and he put down 192whp with the K-Pro. Now imagine if they sat there and tuned that for his car.

I dont think their gonna come out with a K-Pro, which means, that Hondata will find a another way to manage the ECU, and other companys will do the same, which means more money for them..

What has lead you to believe that they're not going to come out with a K-Pro? It could be true, just wondering what your source is.

My source that says a K-Pro will be out at the end of the year said that Hondata is going to use his car in testing during production of the K-Pro and he is getting a free one (obviously). He also said he's gonna try to get me one too. Honestly, this is just a guy I used to work with who now has the same car as me (GG Si), so I don't know how true his statements are.

He used to own an Evo, so I know he's really into cars and tuning. He said he knows like the owner or president or something like that of Hondata. I am gonna give him a call and see what's going on with this or if its bullshit. Until then, I am going to believe him, no reason he would have just made it up.

becuz hondata has said that there won't be a k-pro.
they have said there will be something else...it just won't be called a k-pro.
and i agree...there could be soo many mistakes in orders and tuning etc if u have the k-pro for Si and RSX having the same name..u know there are many dumb people out there that would F shit up...besides...new ECM...new name :)

i'd have it in a heart beat when it comes out.

OK, you guys know what I mean though. It might not be called a K-Pro, but it's gonna be basically the same thing as the RSX K-Pro, but for the Civic. I can't wait until it comes out. It's gonna be nuts.
