Gun Show May 24-25, West Palm Beach

Florida Gun & Knife Shows serving Melbourne, West Palm Beach, DeLand, Eustis, and Arcadia

I will be going to the show on the 24th. I will be taking a 2.5 hour concealed carry course at 10 AM, so I will be walking around at 12:30 checking out some pistols if anyone wants to meet up there. Just about every type of gun (pistol, rifle, shotgun) and knife you can think of, all available for purchase.

This is what I am thinking of buying after I get my CCL (in .40 caliber):

PX4 Storm Beretta :: Pistola semiautomatica

There is also a gun show the same weekend in Miami if people don't want to make the drive up to West Palm Beach: Florida Gun Shows - Guns, Knives &AMP Fun

Concealed Weapon Courses:
INSTRUCTED BY IPS
2 Courses taught per day
2 1/2 hours long
$45.00 Course Fee which includes Class and Range Time
(students are required to shoot one round with the instructor at the designated local gun range)
Total Course Fee $60.00 includes:
1. Photograph
2. Fingerprint card

I think there may be another $100 fee for the acutal permit though, making the total around $200. I'm not 100% sure about this though. And yes they should give you a gun to shoot, although you only need to shoot one bullet to pass the test.

The $60 is only for the course, mugshot, and fingerprints. Once you complete the course, you fill out a bunch of forms and mail them in with something like $115 for the actual permit. If accepted, you should get it in under 3 months.

I've been looking at that Beretta for awhile. Appears to be a pretty decent piece.

px4 is a good gun to start with, i started with that then i upgraded to th S&W .45 n never looked back... S&W is the way to go

Not annual. I think its good for like 5 years. For renewal you just send them another check.

Nice gun the PX4. I just picked up a Sig P226 in 9mm CPO (cert preowned). Great great shooter.
Check out handgunsforum also.. Those guys are great over there.
Be careful with "show" prices... In many cases, you can do better.. budsgunshop is one example if you have a local FFL that can receive your weapon orders for reasonable $15-30 fees.

I agree with being careful about the "Show Prices". The west palm show has gotten a bit out of control with prices. Go to some of the smaller dealers and they will work with you on the price. Sunday, toward the end of the show, sometimes you can catch dealers packing up who are willing to move stuff quickly.
