South Florida Markham Park Meet/BBQ

I thought I'd start a thread for a Markham Park Meet/BBQ. What does everyone think about Saturday, February 16 at 11:00 AM? I'll find out this week if we need to reserve a BBQ or if it's first come first serve. Someone could also bring a BBQ with them as a backup. We could either bring food beforehand or meet up there and leave to get food. Any input?

Once we figure out how many ppl are coming we will figure out what items people should brings (hamburger meat, hotdogs, soda, plates... etc.)

If you guys want I can talk to the park. I work for broward county parks and recreation so I may be able to get a discount on a pavilion or something. I think they do have grills through the park but they are first come first serve. So we would have to get there somewhat early to make sure we get a good one with good parking. To reserve a shelter/grill you have to pay for it. Let me know if you want me to talk to them though. We could all pitch in or something.

Ok, so whos bringin the alcohol? Also anyone mountain bike? I might hit the mtb trails while im there.

Just bought a bike to ride the trails there (mongoose blackcomb from walmart) but when they delivered it the front wheel was bent and the brake rubs! I'm gonna return it in a couple days and have them ship me a new one.

I'd love to attend. Can't miss both Saturdays of work though. If I attend the BBQ I can't convoy. If I convoy I can't BBQ.

if we wanted our own spot with out paying.. someone would have to go early like 8 or 9ish to save the spot..

Well im going to call Markham park tomorrow to get pricing and info and all. Ill post up tomorrow the info I get. Then we can decide if we all wanna pitch in or just go early. undipu7ed, I say you go to the orlando meet!

Its a good mongoose lol, cost me $300 and my neighbor has the same one and always rides there. Has 2 disk brakes, shocks, and looks well built. I'm sure some stuff will break, but I'll fix it. I'm more worried about me breaking than the bike...
