Hello everyone,

Here is my problem:

The stereo inside my coupe is acting really twitchy. What I mean by this is that while I'm using the radio/cd/aux the stereo will switch a couple times to a different input and finally settle on one. I noticed that the problem occurs more frequently on bumpy roads but it still does it on a road that is flat. On certain occasions the stereo was fixed after I shut off and started the car.

I was wondering if anyone knew the reason for my radio problems. If someone can tell me whats wrong or help me find it by eliminating things I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi

I posted this in another part of the forum but didn't get much response. I have since noticed that hardly anyone read that part of the forum so thought I would post it here to see if anyone had any advice or experience with this?

I use my Civic Hybrid as a taxi. I bought it 6 month ago thinking that I would be getting 55mpg. Very unhappy at the 42mpg that it actually delivers. I feel totally misled by Honda with their official figures which are in the realms of fantasy. All the manufacturers are unrealistic but the civic mpg official figures are a total con. I guess they are probably the original figures and don't reflect software updates. Anyway it not all doom and gloom on the Civic as I bought it with 25,000 miles on and I now have 55,000 miles on the clock and haven't spent a penny on repairs. So at least their reputation for solid reliability seems to be true.

I am toying with the idea of getting it converted to lpg. I didn't know it was possible to do an LPG conversion on a Hybrid until I recently discovered Hyundai have actually just launched the new Elantra. It is the worlds first LPG/Hybrid. Shame it isn't available in the UK yet though but hopefully will be in time.

My question really is whether anyone has ever had their Civic Hybrid converted or would they consider it? Are there any problems that anyone could see with doing this?

For me mpg makes a huge difference as I do 1000 miles a week. My current spend on fuel is £140 a week. Converting to LPG will probably reduce my fuel bill by around £60 week. A cool £3000 a year. Conversion cost £1800.

Anyone have any thoughts on it? Feel free to reply for LPG conversions on Honda in general if you aren't sure on Hybrid as I may consider selling my Civic and doing a conversion on an Accord.

Hi

I was looking in my owners manual under maintenance and it states the fuel filter is to be replaced at 50,000 miles. This has not been done on mine. I asked the garage I use if they could do this at the next service and they said it doesn't need one as it has an inbuilt lifetime fuel filter. I showed them the owner manual where it clearly states it is to be changed every 50,000 miles but they still dismissed it and said the manual was probably for all Honda Civics nut your Civic is different.

Anyway can someone please tell me whether they are right or just fobbing me off?
My dads old hillbilly buddy decided rather than takeing the exaust off the brace n moving it we could use an impact wrench with an adjustable head to put it on. This made the bolt go in slightly sideways, I didn't see him in time to stop him. Well we replaced the bolt with a shorter one because the OEM bolt wouldn't thread all the way. It seems to be holding now but I feel stupid with skunk2 camber struts n a cross threaded bolt holding it up. I drove it for an hour checking it every 10 minutes and it seems to be holding fine. Should I try to fix the threads with a tap, take it to a shop point and say fix it, or leave it as is and call it good?

I have a dremel kit with lots of tiny bits, just dont know which ones would work best.

Also for the mis-aligning bolts, i was planning to dremel out the tabs on a spare VSA housing, jb weld it onto the ctr in place needed.

I have all the necessary components to start, just wanted to know if theres any other way around jb welding it onto the push start. Thank you.
