Sorry, the last pic is only a GIF simulation and it's not correctly made.

This is correct. the sidemarkers on the FD2 are lower than the sidemarkers that are pictured. when I installed my sidemarkers, I went to great pains to ensure that they were essentially in the same location as CrackthatTec45's, JrMartinez's, and a couple of other members here.

Please note that in the DIY I suggest that since there is no incarnation of the FG2 with sidemarkers, you can essentially put them where you wish (as long as they are even) and you don't really need to follow my measurements.

You don't.

You reach up , twist the socket and it comes out. replace teh bulb, and re-insert the socket into the sidemarker.

right- you change the bulb by removing the fenderlining and popping the bulb out JUST like you would change your turn signal bulb. or a headlight.

IF you decide to use a silicone sealant like I did, you will have to wait for the paint to dry completely, because otherwise the sealant will take it right back off.
Very nice write up! ! +rep

My only question... what did you paint? Around the signal because it got a little scratched while cutting...?

the area you cut, prime and paint to make a protective seal. you can add some clear silicon to that too if you really want (I did a little to be different)

Great DIY. I have everything I need. I'll be cutting into my fenders this Saturday and I will be putting it in the same spot as fg2!kid.
