I will probably be doing this mod at the same time I do the permanent garage door button. I am driving a Honda Coupe and my little bin on the left side is on the underside of the dash, not the top. Any other suggestions on where to put the screen? No way I can see it down there.
I need to clarify that it's a coupe LX 2006. Last edited by CameronJr9; 11-30-2007 at 03:44 PM. Reason: Merged |

You could stick the display in the center bin or lower bin under the radio, or stick it on the dash. It comes with a little mounting bracket.
But, I have found that the key way that you use this device is by listening not looking at it. The beeping is more than enough feedback for how close you are to something. In fact on our Audi and Porsche just beeps when they are in reverse. Besides if you are backing up, you should be looking back and not at some display. So I would just stick the head unit out of sight under the dashboard. Hearing it will be just fine. |

To apply the paint, I used a reusable spray bottle. These are available at Home Depot under the name "PreVal Spray Gun" and cost about $6. The paint must be mixed in a 50/50 mixture of paint and Paint Reducer (thinner). The reducer is also available from the automotive paint dealer. First the sensor is primed, then the color coat goes on, lastly a coat of clear coat is applied. You will spend about $30 for the paint materials. |
