Need your opinion

I read (saw) the post on painting the calipers. Great thread BTW and need some advice/opinions.

I have an LX, so I have drums on the rear. They looked crappy when I picked it up from the dealer 12 days ago, and I knew I would be painting them soon.
The car is Nighthawk Black Pearl, should I paint the drums and calipers silver or black. Because the drums are a larger surface area and show more, I don't want to get to flashy using the red. I don't think it looks good on drums.

What do you think?

Also for you Canadians out there...Can Tire sells the same Dupli-Colour kit that eBay has for $22.99 CDN. Pick it up and save on shipping.

do you have stock rims? if so arnt the calipers enclosed by the wheel? anyways i think that the best color would be black red or silver. it depends on if you have jdm emblem i would go with red. or do black caliper and red honda stickers. if you have OEM emblems go with silver to match.

Red looks the best to me, but only on calipers, not on drums.

With Drums, I'd say go black. They'll stick out too badly with any other color.

anyone have any pictures of black calipers on a FBP? If not think they will look good on my FBP w/carbon bronze HFP wheels? Thanks

Sorry for the delayed response, I put my tires back on immediately and didn't drive on them for right about 22 hours. I left the clear decal stuff on with the actual decal until I figured it had time to dry and then pulled it off with no problem. It's been about 2 months now and the decals still look brand new and their has been no chipping on the paint. Now I'm thinking about painting the drums in the back; they didn't bother me at first but now I am annoyed. Does anyone have pictures of how they look painted? Thanks

Thanks. I would have gone with the G2 kit but it's pretty much impossible to find in Canada and US suppliers won't ship the paint over borders because of the hazardous material paperwork.

I was split between silver and black -- silver seemed too "stock" but it makes the calipers more visible, black is slightly more original but does hide them a bit.

I think a good bronze colour might get a good balance between those factors without looking too ricey.

I was just wondering, how long did it take for all the calipers to dry? and how long was the total process?

leave the calipers overnight to dry. probably around 8-12 hours. There is a reactor you mix in with the paint that makes it dry ultrafast. It should be fully cured around that time.
