If anybody could tell me if the GraffiXpressions decals work OK with the high temperatures, I would sincerely appreciate it. I already ordered everything that the originator of this thread used for his DYI... I'm just curious. If they can't handle the heat, I'll use the decals elsewhere. Thanks!

Yup they are working great for me so far. The only thing is i got the gold metallic color, and the shine of it is kind of fading away, but you can barely notice it. As far as problems with them sticking, none so far here.

Cool! Well, your brakes look great, and I can't wait to do mine. And your wheels were a great choice! Thanks for the reply.

Okay, maybe I'm a dolt. I tried to put jack stands under my car once. Couldn't figure out where to put them. The area designed to hold the weight of the car is only big enough for the jack. So once it was jacked up I didn't know where to stick the jack stands. Does this make sense?

Calipers look great! I would like to know where you got the honda stickers. I've painted mine already and would like to get the stickers in black. I'll post pictures soon. I'm working on my IMC right now.

To the OP, great write up and funny commentary. Your calipers look great, especially with those OZ wheels. Now that I have seen it done, makes me want to do it now.

Hey Thanks for the DIY!

I just bought some spraypaint from Lordco and taped/masked everything off with tape and newspaper, unfortunately the rain and wind started picking up so I wasn't able to finish any other than my front left caliper. I haven't decided what I think about it yet either, people say they like it but I dunno. Neutron Blue Metallic is such a hard colour to match anything with. Anyways here are pics (I forgot to get one with it all masked off, but oh well I've still got 3 calipers to go!).

that looks good dude. I used the brush because i didnt want to take the chance of overspray getting on the inside of my wheel wells and my car. But that is a nice color though

Once the paint and reactor are mixed, there are only 4-6 hours working time. After that, paint left in the can will harden and will not be useable.

Do not paint the mating surfaces where the road wheels attach to the brake drums. The wheel’s mounting hub diameter should be measured and masked off on the brake drum prior to painting.

Paint requires 2 hours curing time before reinstalling wheels. Do not use the vehicle for 24 hours to allow the paint to fully harden. Plan application accordingly."

Did anyone not wait 24 hours after done to drive? Did anyone do it in outside temp higher than 70deg F? It's ******* 90 here, and it ain't gonna be 70, even at night, for a good minute.

Thoughts?
I was quick to do mine and didn't realize you were supposed to wait. I painted them each with 2 coats (3 on the area that shows) and waited a half hour before putting each wheel back on.

Drove it about an hour after it was done, and have had no problems thus far with the paint kit I got at Auto Zone.

I painted mine and love it, but I can't decide if putting decals on them or not would be rice.

Half of me says yes, the other no.
