I saw the other day on Overhaulin' a Touch sensitive door handle getting installed..
they basically installed that and painted over it. you touch the bit of door where the handle used to be and it opens the door. so cooooool i wonder if its possible to get it. |

I have a question, you said that you put an extra battery in your trunk in case your key dies and you cant open your door. The sedan might be different but in my Si I cant open the trunk with the key. There is a button on the key to pop the trunk and a lever in the car but other than that I cant open the truck so if my door is locked and I don't have a working remote, I cant get into my trunk.

I almost just died from laughing. Seriously, I couldn't breathe. Really. I guess it was THAT funny because it is so true. All the things we do to our cars and make them look as OEM as possible, and the only one who will know is 1. Us and 2. Another 8thcivic.com member (maybe) |

The system that was most likely seen on Overhaulin was also used on Pimp My Ride and is called the Magic Touch and is made by LaFrance Autoworks. As far as those of you don't have the trunk hole why not do the mod anyways and simply put the little screw driver and the extra battery in one of those magnetic key boxes hidden somewhere on the car?

Anyone with a coupe try out the rear handles yet?
I know with the older models, the rear handles have a different bolt pattern on the back, so it couldnt be bolted up. Im planning on trying this out in a couple days but wondering if anyone has confirmed fitment yet - if not - i'll update after i attempt this on a coupe |

No no, I'm replacing the door handles.. but can't get past step six and it's driving me crazy.
I got it off (probably differently than how the OP did it though).. and now the new handle is on. I cannot stress how important a work light is for this project. New problem: the handle does not open the door. LOL |

No, the wire is on and everything is connected.. Locks work, and I can open the door from the inside. Gonna tear down the panels again and have a look.
This is more work than I thought it would be.. and the black tar stuff is indeed a pain in the ass. |
