I started painting one wheel the other day with pretty much the same products, but I skipped scuffing up the wheels with steel wool/sandpaper. I noticed that a lot of the paint was not sticking, and when it did stick the finish felt gritty and unsmoothe. Also, I noticed that even after it dried, a lot of the gritty parts would flake off. The humidity outside was pretty outrageous so that may have been a big factor, but I take it scuffing it up the wheels is a pretty major step?

yeah sanding them down helps the paint stick... clear coat shud of helped wit the texture of the paint... sand down the painted one not too much u dont want deep grooves in it, jus a bunch of light ones.. and start over

id suggest letting them cure in the sun for a few hours atleast... unless u have a big oven and really cool mother lol

what im curious to know is.... do you have to use duplicolor auto paint, or any auto paint for that matter?

I was thinking about going a really odd color that they dont make for autos.

If you feel like changing the lip color after youve painted it, do you just scuff it up again and start from step one? Also effect does use white primer vs grey primer? =]
