im not really planning on doing a red lip to my wheels. im just thinking of repairing my wheels and painting them. sorry to disappoint.

did you leave the masking tape on the lip when you thre them in the oven? How long did you let them cool down out the oven?

Wow man thats awesome! can you just do a diy on it without painting the rims? is baking them necessary? im afraid that if you use steel wool wont it make it uneven or something? i have to try this out because i have two wheels that are curbed pretty bad on the rim. Can you give me some help on how to fix this? thanks man.

no i took the masking tape off.. you have to use towels or oven mits to get them out of the oven, but should be cool to the touch within half hour or so...also you have to let the paint/clearcoat dry overnight

if you just have curbed rims, just clean the area VERY good, and then put some bondo (thats what i used) on the spot where its curbed and sand it into the cracks, then let it dry, sand it and get it smooth, then paint the area. or if you cant match the color of your wheel paint the whole thing. and the baking isnt necessary, just made the red shinier on mine. and i did this months and months ago and my bondo is still holding up lol

the rim is and part of the spoke is also,is there anyway to fix both? thanks!

oo man. Im so excited. Im planning on painting my stock si rims white with a red lip. I think it'll look HOT!. Im so tempted I want to paint them sometime now, but here in NY right about now its reallly cold and soon snow will come so I dont think it'll be worth it. Maybe ill just wait till spring.
