D.I.Y. Si Grill on LX/DX/EX Sedan! - Page 4

Just installed grill (grill, grill base and reused the mounting bolts) on my 2007 Ex, I did trimmed Si tab, but it leaves unsightly gap. If I had to re-do it, I'd leave the tab alone or just partially trim it. Otherwise I really like the result.

Datbacker59, I need to order part 14(in NHBP) and part 11? Anything else?

Also I take out these rubber screws and pop the plastic tabs out to remove the big plastic piece right? Once this is removed you can remove the grill right?

Ok, wont let me edit, says so at bottom of page at posting rules, but...

Sorry the image is so small, click on it to make it bigger, but imageshack is kinda slow. I circled the screws and tabs in green though.

ok im about to do this mod too, but im gonna go with a black grill on my taffeta sedan. from this pic what parts do i officially need. lol this thread is confusing.

I did this mod a few weeks ago.

It is fairly easy. It took me about 30 mins to do.

I just need to find a civic emblem so i can place it where the si emblem is suppose to be.

Any chance we can get those missing pics uploaded/updated on a stable server, or sent to me? That would be greatly appreciated, just ordered my grille, can't wait to get it on, and I'd like to know how (with the pics would make it much easier!)

Just got the grille today, and put it on. I am very pleased with how it looks. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Day 1: Pay stupid COD charges and open package, to my delight it's the Si grill! Take it out and sand the base of that mofo.
Day 2: Prime the base, let dry.
Day 3. Paint the base, let dry.
Day 4: Spray clear coat, let dry
Day 5: Wait...
Day 6: A screw here, a screw there and voila!

all that is at the front of this thread!
1. Start by removing the large plastic piece underneath your hood and above your grill. There are 4 buttons keeping it on, pop them out with a flathead screwdriver.
2. Bend (carefully) the flap with the old grill on it towards you until you can see the 4 screws that attach the grill to the bumber/flap. Unscrew those and switch out the grills.
3. Re attacth everything.

Actually i forgot to mention one step that should come after 1:
Remove the two newly exposed screws with allan keys to free up the bumber flap to be bent forward

thread resurrect! i searched the DIY and couldn't find anything related.

i want to do the opposite-- replace my coupe si grill because some bastard broke the SI logo + holder off. has anyone taken apart the coupe si grill who can give pointers? i'd rather not pay $150 for the dealer to do it, but i dont want to scratch anything either.

Very nice hybrid. i like the grill/base color match combo. very clean. looking to do the same with my royal blue.
