ac2539- i would say just buy the part and take it to a local paint and body and have them color match it..probably wouldn't be more than $30..

i'm thinking about doing this mod...i think it would make the front end look cleaner...kinda crazy that it is the only part on my entire car that is chrome from the factory...maybe honda thought it would make it look more expensive than it really is..lol

Hey...are you guys sure that if I order only part 14 from hondapartsdeals.com that part 11 will come w/ it? because I was just on the website and it seems as though you have to order part 11 separately.

College Hills Honda has also set up a website for ordering the parts needed for the Si grille mod for the sedan. See this thread in the marketplace forum: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39433

Thanks to this DIY and College Hills Honda, I now have an SI grill on my Hybrid.

I used the SI base and trimmed off the SI mounting tab. I didn't think that the gray/stone colored SI base matched my car, so I primed it and painted semi flat black to match my other trim.

87turbolook911- did you get the grill AND the base? How was the install, did you need the screw or tabs?

I bought the silver grill and the grey SI base.

You reuse the mounting bolts from the chrome grill to mount the SI base to the bumper. The silver grill snaps onto the SI base except for two little screws at the end...you'll need to source screws from the hardware store if you don't have a bucket of extra screws like I do.

This pic might help describe the above:

Ah, I see, thanks. So we are buying the SI grill and SI base? I have a lot of screws, just not many various small sizes. I'll keep my eyes on that should I need the screws.
