HFP Kit (Coupe) - DIY Tips

Well, i didnt really take any pictures during my HFP Kit install, so i'll mention some things that might help someone attempting it (i do have a few pics of the side brackets that i'll post up later):

Prep Work:
- washed the car with dawn dishwashing liquid to remove all old wax.
- cleaned all areas where double sided tape would attach with a microfiber cloth soaked with rubbing alcohol.
- removed front bumper
- get a friend to help you (or in my case -- my pops)

Tips:
1 - Started with the front, was pretty straight forward - follow the instructions and you should be fine. I have a very slight gap above the fog light area where it curves around on the driver side...couldnt eliminate it, X seems to think he has a fix ...

2 - Sides, these looked to be the biggest PITA, but actually seemed to be very easy. Jack the side of the car up, i used two jacks. Use the instructions & the templates supplied to measure the correct distances where they tell you to mark with a pen... i put a small piece of painters tape on all the points instead of using a pen. Line up the bracket with all the points you made (have someone help you) --making sure to remove the sections of the tape backing as it says in the instructions, recheck the alignment with the templates and then stick it on. Do the other side now so it's out of the way.
- bolt on the little metal bracket pieces to the buttom of the skirt now, its easier that way. Slide in the side skirts, and pretty much follow the rest of the instructions...the rest is cake. The 2nd side took me about 10 mins total to install.

3 - Rear, easiest section by far. Jack the rear end up. Follow the instructions (ignoring the part to cut your bumper, its completely not needed). Bolt up the rear lip to the rear bumper...not fully tightening the screws in yet. If done correctly at this point i had 0 gap all around. Then i just started drilling underneath the bumper...started with a small bit, finishing with 10mm bit. Follow the rest of the instructions to bolt it in, remove the double sided tape and call it a damn day!

*** updated ***
- For any small gaps, use the included spacers between the existing bumpers and the HFP lips, one should be enough. This solved my gap issue, now i'm 100% gap free!

Happy HFP Kit'ing!

didnt tighten the screws...but i didnt press the left and right sides down at the same time, i did passenger side to the middle, then driver side to the middle, in that order... maybe that's what got me? It honestly isnt bad, but is a bit annoying

Same problem with my front lip on the passenger side right above the fogs/curved area. I also have the same issue on the back right about the muffler area. I took it into honda they tried to fix it but it came back. Anybody know the trick. Thanks

it is all about the direction you take the tape off and if you take the bumper off or not.i took my front off and did not get any gap.i took the back off too, thinking it would be easier. i should have left the back on i think it would have made a difference.i have a very small gap on the corner but it is not noticable

For the front, did u remove the existing front bumper in order to install the under spoiler (like it states in the installation guide) or can u do it without removing the bumper.

Just a quick tip from my own experience....

You CAN use the spacers with the rear lip too. This helped fix my problem with a tiny gap that didn't seem to want to go away. After using four 2mm spacers on the sides of the rear lip, I no longer have that issue!

You have to remove the front bumper! In the inside of the bumper is where you'll find guide marks to drill.
