OK, I just bypassed the relay and went straight to the horn and think I lost hearing in my left ear now. Does that mean I should not use the relay? And why would the horn sound when I give it power as opposed to only sounding when the horn button is pressed? I still have the battery connected, I'll disconnect that, bypass the relay and see if the horn sounds upon reconnection of the battery. Damn loud horn!

Diy Horn Upgrade
I Ordered Factory Ridgeline Horns. They Are About 15 Bucks Each. High And Low Tone. You Can Use One And It Plugs Right In. I Used Two And I Used The Factory Plug On One And An Adapter On The Other. I Think You Can Order That Plug Too,but I'm Not For Sure. I'm Going To Do A Friend Of Mine And I Will Update With Pics.

no one has really touched on the wiring in depth its just a "splice in to this" or "connect into that" Someone said use a in line fuse but my insructions say nothing about that. Is it two wire or one? Iv'e heard both on that topic too. I purchaed a BADBOY dual tone horn model 419 and it says connect it right up if its two wire and connect the (-) end to a ground if its a one wire system. Now I'm scared I'm going to blow something. The instr. say that if you connect them backwards it will just not work so you will need to swith them and thats all. Nothing about a fuse or disconecting the battery. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CLEARIFY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM DYING TO GET RIDE OF A CASE OF THE MEEP MEEPS fyi it ame with a technial support number (888)550-horn (4676) if it helps anyone. Mon-fri 8-4 eastern time. I'll all but Id rather hear the voie of experience with my car here. THANKS

Got it!!!!
Ok so there are two horns on my 08 fg2 civic si. I took the bumper off (which is YES much easier than it sounds) And remove both oem horns. Then I put my new badboy horn on the passenger side for ease of grounding the wire. YES it has only one wire per horn therefore you must ground the
(-) end of the horn. Tested it and boy it is bad a$$. Hope this helps someone. I can only guess that other after market horns might be different but this is what I did today, took about 1 hour due to the fact I have never taken off the bumper. No fuses went out, I didn't unhook the battery, I just tapped the horn when it was hooked up. Payoff........priceless goodbye meep meep goodbye. |

I think this is definitely something I should do when I get my car back from the bodyshop...apparently my wussy horn wasn't loud enough to stop a garbage truck from backing up into the driver's side corner of the front bumper of my ONE WEEK OLD Si...
