Talking DIY Bumper Plugs for .38 cents @Home Depot

Aights guys, i know some of you guys might have a hole on your bumper cuz of your dealer. Now it's never to late to cover that up.. Don't pay $25 bucks for a pair of bumper plugs at bumperplugs.com. Here is a cheap mod.. First you will need a Push in Fashener at Home Depot for .38 cents or any local hardware store 375" Nylon and UPC is 030699459483, a drill and a dril bits, Spray paint can (depends what car color you have), gloves, flat or philip skrew driver (optional)

Now.. if you have a skrew on your bumper, try to remove it with a philip skrew driver or a flat skrew driver. Then drill the hole, to smoothen out the hole. Next grab a pair of golves for your protection. lol. holding the tip of the fashener, spray paint it with 3 coats. Make sure to wait couple of minutes about 5 mins each to coat to dry up. Then wala.. slap it on.

Before..

After...

Spray Paint FtWiN.

$25 for bumper plugs?! I guess there really is a sucker born every minute ($5 including shipping makes sense- $25 is taking advantage, that's capitalism for ya). The only problem with the Home depot solution is that you really should primer the nylon first so the paint has better adhesion (it'd be a pain to pry it out for a repaint).

I used a small little plastic plug from a dead CPU fan. Much smaller than the one in the pics and I didn't have to drill the hole larger.

I did this with a smaller plug, and I used my honda touch up paint. (already had it, and it matches perfectly) As for repaint, you could always tape if off, that is what i am going to do for a little bit of clearcoat. (just going to brush on, not spray) Looks better than a hole or a license plate.

Well as of right now I have a screw in my front bumper.. I'm not 100% worried about the appearance since the body shop that fixed my front end put about 1/2 coat of paint and no clear coat up front.. so I have more rock chips than I do horsepower. No bueno. This is a good fix for someone that's in a situation like mine.. I want my car to look better, but don't want to spend much money until I can afford to have it fixed right.

yeah, you can buy the 315 plugs. they work better. also they have metal hole plugs in home depot in the same section. the 3/8" ones work well and are tiny.

Just took my front license plate and holder off. Just unscrewed plate and used a rachet wrench to undo the 2 bolts holding the plate holder on, then removed 2 metal peices. The dealer is supposed to put on the plate holder with these 2 bolts because built into my lower grill and back 2 inches are holes to mount the plate holder.

Question for anyone who has perfected this.

There is another thread using a .315" plug. Which diameter would better fit the stock drilled hole? the .315" or .375"?

Thanks
