the easiest way to do this is to take a heat gun, go over the badge to looses the glue. Then spray kerosene over the badge and take a fishing line under the badge "flossing" it off. then wipe the kerosene away with the left over glue and put a little wax on it after it is done. I did it to both my cars...(Mugen si) I removed "civic" and my 02 EX I removed "EX" and "Civic"...

can't make a new thread for some reason, but i took the civic badge off the back, and took the Si off the front, and put the civic badge where the Si badge was under the hood, easy mod, took the bumper off then took the Si badge off by unscrewing the two screws that connect it to the grill, then i simply super glued the civic badge to the mounting plate that the Si badge was on, took about twenty minutes

Perhaps it's to cold out (50 F), but I tried thee badge removal for the civic decal.
Dental string took it off but the residue won't come off, a layer of brown is still left. I tried rubbing alcohol and a hairdryer, goo-gone, and nail varnish. Anything else? |

Just smear some into the adhesive and let it sit for 10 mins or so. Then rub on it with your fingers... Repeat until you're done. I did mine when it was 35 F so the temp shouldn't be a problem... Goo-gone is your best bet, I promise... just takes a little patience. |

So I decide to take off the front si symbol. No big deal, just unscrew it, right? I take off the two front clips that pop off, and then go for the right one holding on that piece of black plastic. Of course, with my luck, it shatters instantly flying across my garage. So now there is a shiny silver bolt in it's place, and the Si badge is still there

Advice: Don't wait 2 years to attempt this =(
Extreme goo-gone got the adhesive off, but the word civic is still visible on the paint. I think 2 years of rain, salt, and light changed the color of the exposed paint while under the badge its still darker. |

I just did this on my coupe. Some how there was goo be gone in my garage so i used it. After heating up the adhesive and all that stuff it came off clean. I used goo be gone to take off the rest. The car looks like it never had it on there at all. Thanks for the diy!

Just took my emblem off. Started with just fishing line, which got the emblem off fine. There was a LOT of residue left, though, and it was very, very stuck. I ended up having to soak it in goo-gone while scratching it off, little by little, with my finger nail. After most of it was gone, some rubbing alcohol got rid of the bits and then I waxed.
Looks good :) |
