i did this to my GTI it looks good on all cars if you do it right. The OPs rims look really good.

If your worried about them scratching the paint off when they unscrew the bolts from the rim, before they take it into the shop get some painters tape and put it around the well of where the bolt sits.

thanx guyz...

u shouldn't fear rim shops b/c as long as they know how to handle rims it shouldn't be a problem...

the lugs could be a problem b/c the impact gun is really torquey and sometimes will chip the paint if u touch it... painters tape will work or they have a special socket for special rims... it's a Teflon Socket that prevents any damage to rims... i usually just take the lugs off by hand just to be safe...

scuff pads should be fine... ur only intent with sandpaper/scuff pads is to scratch the surface so that the new paint can grab onto it...

most ppl make the mistake of sanding too smooth then the paint peels later on... never go smoother than 800 grit... and even that is pushing it for most paint brands...

most ideal paper/pad is between 320-600 grit...

pretty much right... when cleaning u just want to make sure that u clean the rims of any grease/etc...

if it's spray paint i wouldn't wait too long to clear them... car paint has different chemicals in it... and if u clear too soon u will trap these chemicals under the clear and b4 the clear cures u will see the other chemicals trying to evaporate...
