Front bumper bolt fix lots of pics!

~~if a mod likes this, please stick it into a diy, but after browsing through all the sub forums i didnt know which one it would be under...diy exterior? ~~ i dont know any mods on this site just yet still learning! tyvm~~

OK, so i had a front bumper issue that it would pop out since the bolt on plastic rings were torn. here is the original thread.

Front bumper bolt fix?
materials you will need.

1. phillips (+) screwdriver. not the (-) one.

2. EPOXY. make sure it says metal and plastic on it.

3. WASHERS. the perfect size is 1/4

4. a C clamp.

5. plastic / cling / seran wrap, whatever you like to call it. the clingy thing.
(not necessary but nice to have to keep it clean. and to prevent epoxy from sliding everywhere.

REMOVE THE SCREWS.

step 1.
use some water and a cloth to clean the area that you are about to bond.

step 2

take washer and apply epoxy

step 3
place the washer UNDERNEATH the bumper hole NOT on top. reason being is so that so you can see the damage and mold whatever is left to the shape of the washer.see photo for reference.

step 4
WRAP the area with the cling / seran / plastic wrap. this prevents epoxy from running all over the place.

step 5
using a C clamp, OR the original screw, either 1. clamp it into place. or TWO, use the original screw and screw it through the plastic. through the washer and through the hole, and just let it sit there OR use a C clamp to clamp the washer onto the oem hole.

step 6
let it dry. the container said 5 mins, i let it sit for an hour and just watched a movie.

step 7
remove clamp / screw . seran wrap. at this point the seran wrap may have been glued to the bumper. you can leave it there or use a flat blade to remove it. , i left it there so it could have more stuffing for it to stay in there.

at this point all that is left is for you to smash it back in, reinsert the screw and you're good to go.

before

after

hope you guys like it. any comments criticism etc etc greatly appreciated.

quick shout out to EXcoupe, Rhobere, and Bman for the idea

^quick q if you glued it back in, are you able to remove the bumper normally anymore? or are you going to not even bother with taking the bumper off period any longer?
or did you mean you glued the hole back together

I took mine to the dealer today. A snow storm cause more damage then just a popped out bumper so I am claiming a warranty repair at the dealership. I am surprised as Honda advertised these cars as being engineered for a Canadian winter.... apparently not if it snows!!!

Good stuff, I did the same thing, but I used bumper plastic repair kit. 2 weeks later some shuck hit my front end so I got a new one, but worked great while it was still one there
