Installed DCRH & Tanabe catback!!
i installed my DC racing headers and Tanabe touring medallion exuast on weds. I was a *****! lol. Tuesday night i stayed up all night tryna get the damn screws off of the stock peices. Finally after 3 1/2 hours of scratches and dirtyness, i took everything out with the exception of one bolt of the stock header.i woke up the next morning and finally got it off and was tuggling to get the right agle to take the header out. It was another tussle getting the DCRH in but finally did. Then through on the Tanabe on..ITs sweet@!!!! lol. its fairly quiet but today its starting to get louder. i feel the difference like whaaaa!
???My question is that if there is supposed to be like a little rattling under the car once in a while when i reverse or take off??? i am pretty sure that i tightend all the bolts and got the hooks of the exaust into the rubber sleeves/holdings. ive heard that that goes away after a while???? So if anybody has any answeres i would appreciate it..THANKs! |

It should not rattle. It could be because you put the tanabe on instead of going with the DC catback. Im not sure though. Also, it could be one of the rubber hangers came loose or something. Hope it works for ya!

did you torque all the bolts back down to specs or close to??? also check your connenction from the end of the header back where the collector is. i would assume its some on the exhaust is not tightened properly because you said it only does on start up...the exhaust when it gets warm expands and takes it some slack when you start driving partially eliminating the noise....double check every bolt and connection when cold is what i suggest

checked all bolts and tightened everything to spec then retightened after 500miles. I have a feeling it's just rattling against the heatshield. I don't notice it so much anymore.
it sounds as if it's coming from directly below the shifter when sitting in the car. |

I don't know what the fitment and clearance is like for DCRH, but if it's closer to the firewall or other components the issue could be engine movement. If the header is attached to the back of the engine and the engine twist along an axis under power it would move the header and exhaust along with it. I may only happen in reverse because the suspension loads in a different direction and could be shifting obstructions closer to one of the exhaust components that would move away from those components under forward motion. I dunno, just a theory.
If that were the case, you would have to either find the point of contact and add a buffering material or get stiffer engine mount bushings. |

Ima grab a legit camara and try to get some footage tomorow.. the combinations sound sweet actually. i could still hear my sri sucking in hella air...then that little hiss and power sound from the dcrh.and finally that nice growl from the tanabe..i think the sound is just perfect..not super rice loud like my old pipe..it like a sleeper or luxury sports. the tanabe is starting to get a bit deeper in these last days which is great for me its just what i expected. I just installed on weds morning so hopefully the rattling goes away..i really want to get under it and pin point the rattles. BUt other than that i think its a great setup..
