What kind of fabrication is required on the strut housing for the struts to work? Just trying to see if it's something that absolutely requires me to send it to you or if I can handle doing it myself.

The fabrication is to cut off the top of the strut housings and empty the shock guts out of it..... then make a 2" OD thread on the exterior of the strut housings about 3/4 inch down from the top where it's cut off. It requires the proper external tube threader die and you could do it yourself. I'd say it will be a whole lot easier to send your housings to us or pay the core charge so you can bolt everything right on.

Cheers,
Chris at RedShift

Here is a cross referenced post from another topic that pertains here as well... an update on the suspension.
****************************************

Quick update. We are still on schedule to deliver everything as ordered by May 15th.

Suspensions:

Front -

In front, we'll be using 6" Free Length, 2.5" ID springs (3 cheers for travel). They are Eibach Race Springs, in case you didn't already know. Threaded collars are a treated steel incorporated into the top cap, which threads onto the OD of the stock housing (after we fab the housing to accomodate it). The stock lower spring perch will be removed on all coilover front setups so that the extra travel of a 6" front spring can be used.

The upper spring perch is a trick modified strut bearing which uses an anodized aluminum lower half with 0-rings to accomodate the 2.5" ID spring.

And optional front upper camber/caster plate is available for $295 ($370 retail). It's the K-Mac Camber/Caster Plate that you can see at the following links, under "New Products".
Welcome to K-MAC, Camber Kits, Caster Kits, Springs, Swaybars.

Rear -

In rear, we use an anodized aluminum upper spring collar with a 2.5" ID spring, held to the frame using 1 Nutsert per side (optional).

Shocks -

Shocks are Koni Sports, Koni Race (with Single or Double Adjustable Config). I should note that all rear RACE shocks (SA and DA) are available upon custom fabrication by Koni...we don't have control over that.

EXHAUSTS - We are going to have pictures of our new exhaust in about 1 week, probably just after this pre-sale. We'll have sound and power testing following that as we can get to it.

Sale end in less than 1 week!

You have to add the adapter if you want to run it from a 2.5" header outlet. If you want it to be a direct 3" inlet, you don't have to spend the $63. The $63 buys you a V-Band flange connection at the 3" inlet and a 2.5" 3 or 2 bolt flange (whichever you need)... plus a 2.5" to 3" expander tube to help make the transition a little more gentle.

do any of your packages contain progressive springs, or are they all linear? if none progressive, then if i drove to CT, how much would u guys charge for installation of my own springs (most likely skunk2) + Koni reds?

if you cut your strut up yourself then the job is done and you dont need the core charge, the point is if you dont want to do that, they'll send you one already fabricated for $120 and you get that $120 core charge back when you send your stock housing to them....the car wont be slammed on the sportlines cause its only a 1.4 inch drop, if you're talking more like 2-2.5 inches then it's slammed and the adjustables are obviously to your preference.....for the daily driver thing, thats why they make koni reds, they will be softer than the yellows so you wont have such a stiff and uncomfortable ride....however once my question is answered you can know better about which one to get because progressive springs are better for daily drivers as opposed to linear springs and i dont know if the eibach sportlines are progressive or linear.

The eibach Pro kit and sportlines are both progressive springs.

Our coilover setup will come with eibach linear springs

Another question buddy- is the fabrication necessary if I just buy Koni Red shocks and combine them with skunk2 lowering springs? And are Reds soft enough for daily driving or is Tokico HP better for that?

The fabrication is a modification to the stock housings. We remove the guts and thread the outside of the housing. Yes in order to run our konis this modification is needed

I would say the Reds are similar if not slighly stiffer than a HFP shock. They would be fine for DD, so would the yellows as they are adjustable

Setting aside the "racing setup" bias that you have from what u said in a different thread lol

-If I don't want to sacrifice ride comfortability (as much as possible), whats the better bet red or yellows?

-IF it's not that big of a difference at all, then which one is better quality for handling and such?

I promise after you answer this I'm going to order one of them either this Friday when I get paid or if I don't have enough, then 2 wks. from this Friday!
Thanks Greg
