I did this like three weeks ago only i cut more of the piping and extend the tube all the way to the fog light vent which i cut out. Total cost $0.00
. Also on another note, My Friend who bought an Injen CAI for Roughly $300.00, use to put about a car on me with his intake, and when we were stock we were dead even. Now i put about 2 Cars on him because of this mod! GREAT DIY!!!

ok, here is the deal.
I did this mod and it worked great for awhile. Then limp mode with no CEL,wouldn't rev past 6k, no vtec. It's been at the dealer since monday, just found out that the rubber end piece will fold in on it's self when the rpm's increase. Therefore cutting off air to motor. No CEL will come on. So if anyone else has the same problem this should be the reason. great idea/mod. but I'm going to make it better by changing a few things. |

Have you any concerns about drawing in water with this setup? Seems like the opening is a little higher than in the mod for the SI that originated this thread. |

yeah im gonna remove mine this weekend cause its pointless to have now since i have an SRI. I have a K&N Typhoon, and there is a hole in the included heat shield for the stock air hose to fit there, but I really doubt it generates any vacumn at all to actually suck air from the stock hose to prevent heat soak
