the apex filter has the adapter with it that youll use in conjunction with the spectre coupler to mount it to the maf. other filters and maf adapters are set-up in the reverse order.

you are correct. i did not use a triangle file. i went in and out with a crescent file. worked great.

Hey Q, Look at the edges of the vanes where is meets the round part. Looks like your is not as flat as X's intake. Just an obsevation.

yea, that's why i said it needs a lil cleanin up. i didn't have a small file on hand when i did this. it'll be taken care of though. thanks man.

Hey X, (or anyone that knows) is there an specific width/thickness you aimed for when you were sanding down the vanes? And how is it that you figured out you had a 5% angle at the front (does the Jig let you get that specific angle?)

when you get to 5 degrees or so the vanes will be the right thickness. use a small compass.

I just got a protractor and used it to cut out a 5 degree angle out of a piece of cardboard and used it as a template to slide over it.

where is the pic that shows the 5 degree thing. is it the outsides (top and bottom) or the insides (middle inside part of vanes) and the front or back or both of the maf in terms of airflow.

it's on a small business size card. should be with your manual and your quick reference guide. that's where i keep mine anyway...

I think I'm a bit confused on this. The angle is from front to back right? Wouldn't that mean you would have to put the template along the side? And it being a cylindrical object, that doesn't quite work lol.

Yes. You need to get your radio code ready if you plan on reseting the Ecu.

I use a thin piece of cardboard I use a protractor to draw a 5 degree angle on it and cut out the inside of the angle. Then I slide it into the MAF housing over the vane thats been filed. If it fits then the angle is correct. If it doesn't fit then it needs to be filed more.
