I've been following this project since it's inception some time back. I never did get a reply from X on some messages I sent him...which was ok...having a business and this forum to keep after is time consuming!

I did buy the items needed...and kept asking for DYI stuff...however, I went ahead and did the EXACT same thing to the vanes...LONG time back! Same basic process...and as it appears, same 'angles' and such.

Great minds.... :)

Thanks for the work on this...and getting me started in the right direction. I've had the mod in the car for about 2 months now? and it's been wonderful! Keep up the great work!

So would you say this mod is worthless if you have no access to a dyno?

ummmm....no. Seeing as how the dyno's have been done by "X", I wasn't worried about it. why would a dyno be needed to verify a mod? You would pay 4 times as much for a "dyno'd" AEM intake, right?? :) and wouldn't dyno that one!

if you buy the intake or the modded MAF from Corsport you don't need a dyno.

if you are doing this mod yourself, i would recommend checking your afr after installing it. if for some reason you didn't do it right, you could damage your engine. a dyno is one way to check and you can also see how much power you gained and where you gained it(which is what i'll be doing). you can also purchase an afr gauge, however i have no experience with these and don't know if it can be used in this case.

its just some i found in the garage to protect the housing while filing the vane. you can do the same thing if you get creative with some rubber from like a radiator hose.

can you compile all this info into one post or thread? the pics and specifics are fairly scattered.

the rubber ring comes with the spectre coupler you can get at murrays, auto zone, or pep boys it fits inside the coupler in case you are going from a 3" opening to a 2.5" they cost like $7 for the coupler and internal rubber ring
