Got mine installed, but haven't reset the ECU.. Feels pretty good so far and sounds great.

X, I'm in need of the part number for the clip that goes over the transmission cable. Broke mine lol. You happen to know it?

Well, like I said I finished my DIY X intake and kind of hopped on the bandwagon about the insane gains. I hoped to do mine and see similar results.. But with Qshooter's recent disappointing results, I was a bit scared to see what was going to happen.

After much blood shed (me slicing the top part of my knuckle off trying to get the lower box off and my dad almost slicing his finger off because he was trying to handhold a piece of metal and drill a hole in it with the drill press, even though he knew better lol) as well as being late for class, I got the mofo on.

My bracket doesn't exactly support the intake firmly, but it holds it up.. Like I mentioned earlier, I also broke that little bracket thing that goes over the shifter cable. Will be picking another up tomorrow. On my way to class, I didn't get much time to do any spirited driving really.. It felt a bit peppier, but nothing like X was saying. Sounded nice, but I was still a bit :/ about whether it was worth it.

After getting home from class, I reset the ECU as it started to rain.. great, more humidty to probably make it feel slower. It was a pretty light rain so I hoped for the best.

So I set out to flog my new intake and JESUS CHRIST X wtf did you do to my car!? WOW if this thing didn't gain shit for power, it is the best butt dyno mod ever. I went out for about 30 mins just VTECing at every moment. This thing, even in the humid weather, drove BETTER than stock. A lot less hesitation and bogging, such as when letting off the gas and the car "bucking" as it winds down.. very smooth now. Throttle response is a bit better actually. I don't know if my cut up airbox/K&N filter made it worse than stock, but it is now way better than before that's for sure.

Now onto the butt dyno.. I lost traction in first when I hit VTEC, regained traction, went to redline, shifted to 2nd and lost traction.. all throughout 2nd. It just kept spinning the tires and tried to regain, but still couldn't until I was @ 57mph at the top of 2nd. This thing is just crazy! I know the wet weather might be making this a bit worse than normal, but just yesterday going through the gears, my tires held up about the same as on dry pavement (the Pilot Sports have had very nice traction for me so far). Either way, it seemed to pull harder and reached 100mph ~2 seconds faster than normal (I have a certain onramp that I usually go crazy on and have certain markers for when I hit 100mph). VERY satisfied so far, and hope I can gather some cash (eventually) to dyno my intake.

All in all, great product X and thanks for the DIY!

I'll try and get some vids in the next day or two btw and post them in here. You can compare them to my previous vids of just my DCRH and Vibrant exhaust.

True, I am just comparing to how the tires acted before the intake. I doubt the Hyundai had the same traction abilities of the summer tires the Si has either. When's the FI coming?

I'm still sold on the DIY, but i won't pay 300 for it. Thanks for the vids and input ibanez37! I like the first-hand input. ... now go dyno!

Actually, i was more interested in the DCRH and Vibrant Catback in the vids, they sound awesome

just finished the maf housing last night, one of the vanes split down the middle but the vane is even and the crack shouldnt budge unless the air passing through it is equivalent to 60 mph, which i doubt, but the apexi filters are backordered for another two weeks and still have to get a stand to support the intake. as soon as i get all the stuff i will throw it in and dyno it. im gonna dyno my maf housing, then switch it with a real X intake that my buddy has to see if mine is any different in performance.

I just got mine assembled and installed. So far so good, steady idle...feels like a gained a bit as well, middle and top end. Throttle response is improved as well. Apparently the stands are backordered, so it's ziptied for the time being. Also, it makes a "whistling" sound at about 1/2-2/3 throttle, I haven't heard that from an intake before. Anyone else hear that?
