Even if Qshooter's problem was unique, you're saying that a completely different problem with the tb occurred within inches of modification of the MAP sensor and there is no connection between the two? And a return to the stock intake corrected the problem? I really doubt it.
when i installed my DIY intake on the dyno, the car started and ran fine. there was no CEL and i gained 2 whp up top over the stock box. i have yet to see what i gained in the middle cuz i have not yet received my run files via email. i'm becoming more annoyed by the hour. they told me i'd have them first thing monday morning. but whatever, that's another issue...the vanes are perfectly symetrical and even. i will be measuring the angle tonight. on the way home from the dyno i drove my car pretty hard for 2 hrs and it was fine.

also, my car was idling steady for over an hr before it started idiling erratically. when it happened, i turned it off, then restarted it IMMEDIATELY. the car started and idled fine. i drove it home then to autozone to have the code pulled. then grabbed food and drove home. the car ran fine the entire time. no issues at all.

Also, Jordan... I still think part of your issue (with low readings) is partially due to your 70mm exhaust. That piping just might be too large and with the amount of flow through the exhaust, the actual air may not be being forced out because of the larger piping (i know what i mean but i dont know how to express it)

However... after thinking about it more... if you had this issue then Will wouldve had it as well, so i could easily be wrong. But the larger piping could also explain Oriol's 'low' numbers as well.... i dunno.

We'll just need to go to bristol again. try and convince them not to sell their dyno equipment.
____________

Have you recieved the email yet with your charts? i havent got mine yet
bristol may be out. he told me to contact them again in a week. no i still have not received my run files.

Hmm... maybe Piotrush can try and get some info on the place supposedly in Stamford, CT that has an AWD dyno, so that Dani's hubby's EVO can get on the dyno too.

I'd really like to get my run-files so i can start to keep documentation on mods.

That sounds really similar to my experience with my aftermarket intake. It drove absolutely fine for the first day and a half...felt power and idle was fine. Then it randomly would start doing the rev deal and it threw a cel. I reset the cel and disconnected my battery and it ran fine for a couple hours but then started right back up again with the cel. The power increase seemed unaffected (by the butt dyno), but the idle problem kept becoming more and more frequent until I went back to stock.

Trust me, I want your intake to work probably as much as you do...I diy'ed my own and it's sitting in my living room waiting on the filter/stand. As for what's actually going on, I have no idea...and I definitly am not accusing your workmanship on your vanes. I'm just saying there's no denying the fact that it's probably the intake that's causing the problem, not an unrelated tb issue...despite what the code is.

yeah, i didn't give it a chance to happen again, the stock box went back in within hrs. whats' the design of the weapon r intake?

ya know, i'm not quite sure it's gonna work well with a race header and 70mm exhaust at all. here's the pics i have right now. when i get it apart tonight, i'll take more...

first vane almost done...

both vanes completed...

The Weapon R was just a hollow aluminum tube...no vanes, nothing. But whatever my car didn't like about that intake, it seems your car doesn't like about your intake.

Btw, your vanes look almost identical to mine, I'm a little scared that mine is going to do the same thing. Have you ever had any other intake on yours?

Didn't X want to take a look at the pics of your housing? Did he have any suggestions or thoughts?

so you have all those mods and only picked up that little HP?? What was the base HP before mods? I thought you'd easily be over 200HP with reflash, intake, header, etc...???
