Started modifying mine yesterday. Didn't get too far as I didn't have much time, but things make a lot more sense when you start to do things.
Questions for X 1) If you get uneven filing on the fins, I'm assuming you just focus on the uneven area before you get it completely filed down? 2) When using the small file on the sides, at what angle do you file? Completely vertical on the whole thing or at a similar angle to what is being achieved by the big file? |

Well here's some progress pics.. Couple more questions for ya X
1) It doesn't seem like my angle is narrow enough. My filing doesn't go all the way to the back edge of the vane (as you can see in the pics below. I'm not sure if this is because I was using a thinner rubber circle to protect the back part of the MAF housing compared to the spectre rubber circle. Any input on this? 2) I'm sure you can tell my filing is a bit uneven in some spots. Is there a way to rectify this? Do I actually need to try and achieve an angle with the flat file on the edges or does the triangle file acheive this when doing the main filing of the whole vane? 3) Any other general feedback about what you can see in my pics? Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
