this is what i am confused on, and believe me i have searched, watched the videos, tried to ask, and followed this from the get-go.

which part do you file, and where is the angle.

Actually X, quick question.. do you make the 5 degree angle from the red lines in my pic or the blue lines? I can't see there making much dif but just making sure.

i dont understand how you dont see what to file. he sticks the cards in the center so you cant file the inside.

i think someone who has done this and knows what they are doing should make a paint image like that with lines clearly showing what to file.

i understand that, and have watched them, but still don't fully understand what to grind/angle/cut/sand/etc. cause to me all of the pictures look different. i see no continuity.

just asking for a GOOD explanation.

Is the 5 deg. angle all the way from the front to back? Could you do this type of mod on a SRI? If you say cut back to the maf housing?

Im pretty sure you dont wanna file all the way back to the blue line I think the filing stops about a 1/4 inch or so before the back of it

people keep adding little tidbits of imformation that are actually confusing me. in that pic above it looks like both of the tops of those vanes have been sanded.

and i thought someone also said to sand the entire thing down to be as thin as possible.

actually its not a 1/4 inch its less but I dont think it goes all the way to the end

while we have you x....do you sand the whole thing way back....

what about the red vs blue like above and how far back does it go, just enough to get the 5 degree.

can you paint up a pic when you get some time?

im more than happy to answer questions and help you out but if you can understand and see whats done then you shouldn't be attemping this DIY. look at the pictures i posted here. nothing is removed from the center.

if you are getting your 5 % angle then you will know how far back it goes. i sand the whole top of the vanes to clean up the filing groves the file leaves behind.
