Painted Intake Manifold Cover

This has been a small project I've been waiting to do, ever since I saw a bright green one with a TEIN sticker on it. It's not much, but took lots of prep work. I can't wait till the clear coat dries, then I will carefully cut around the edges and pull off the masking tape and install.

I first taped off the badge (originally I tried using a heat gun and pealing it up, but the badge started to bend) and sanded with 600grit to take of the layer of clear off.

Once sanded and cleaned with soap and water I applied two layers of primer waited to dry then sanded to a butter surface.

Once washed and clean yet again, I used a tack cloth then sprayed two base coats. (not a good pic)

Flash time took about 30mins I then sprayed first layer of clear coat with sticker on. ( I know the stickers off a little, but its too late now ).

I did three layers of clear laying it on thick the last go round.

I’m going to wait for it to properly cure tomorrow before I peal off the masking tape. I really can't wait to install back on the car. When I get some time I hope to match the valve cover.

[Updated Pics]
I'm pleased with how it turned out.
