sweet. so how exactly do i get the belt off? i can remove the alt or i can use the belt tensioner pulley right? how do i push the belt tension pulley back? can someone illustrate with arrows?

no need....check it....

get a socket on a long handle wratchet....put it on the tensioner nut and push.....i'm pretty sure you'll be pushing towards the firewall

Push towards the rear of the car. And don't try and slam it. Just simply apply pressure and it will slowly release tension.

I'm pretty sure I posted a step-by-step process of what I did on this thread. If not a simple search would find it. I had a difficult time doing it myself and later posted some tips on how I did it for others.

if your standing in front of your car with the hood open, the firewall is the metal wall behind the motor that keeps you from getting charred if your motor catches fire...

I had to get the alternative to the correct belt size so I assume that's the 6 ribbed one. But I've had mine for a year or coming up to one I think and everything is perfect.

Quick question about belt routing, and I figured this was the best place to ask:

All the pictures on here seem to show a belt routing where the belt wraps around 180 degrees of the alternator pulley (approximately.) However, looking under the hood of my car (2009 Civic LX Coupe) it seems to wrap just under 90 degrees of the pulley. Here's what I mean...



Probably a small inconsequential thing, but I happened to notice today.
