Too bad the currency exchange rate sucks right now. Its now $44.29 (4300 yen). Maybe I'll wait to see if the dollar can rebound some, lol.

JDM engine cover

I checked today the cover is $44.29, the bolts are $13.60 and the shipping to North Texas $29, thats $86.89. What material is this cover made of ?

Bolts? There are no bolts required for the install. It is a straight forward switch out. But that price I quoted earlier did include shipping.... but there was an additional $2.00 currency exchange charge that came AFTER the transaction was complete.

I was refering to the bolt head cover part no.261-030-002 a set of two that every one in the forums say you need for complete installation. The cover assembly is part no. 261-030-001.

I see what you are referring to both from japanparts.com and earlier in this thread... but mine installed fine without the extra bolts. The rubber grommets/washers seem to hold the unit just fine onto the existing bolts. Oh well.....I will try and take a pic and show it for clarity.

There seems to be a lot of discussion concerning whether of not one needs to purchase the bolts in order to do a complete installation. So, I thought I would take a couple of detailed pics of how the rubber grommets should look in case you DO NOT want to purchase the extra bolts.

The first pic is taken looking from the passenger side.

This pic is taken looking from the front of the car.

You can see how the rubber grommet is made to fit over the existing bolt heads. If anyone has installed this piece using the replacement bolts, please post some detailed pics so I can decide if I want to purchase them or not.

order problem solved

After trying many times to order from japanparts.com and failing to complete my order I emailed japan parts and they solved my problem. I was using FireFox, you have to order from them using Internet Explorer. I placed my order today. I ordered without the bolts.

It won't. Ordered mine last year and it didn't have the silver lettering. Did you buy the bolts?

That sucks...I wanted the silver lettering...Oh well...
Enjoy! Install shouldn't take 5 minutes. If it takes longer, you're doing it wrong.

I have had it installed for over a year. Not worth the headache. Not that important to have the silver letters either, but it would have been nice. Now it kind of doesn't matter either way.
