ok the first one is the hole that is right by the wheel...

the second pic shows the hole that is more near the back...

first you stick your oil wrench in the first hole and get it on the filter... then move back a little bit and put your other arm in the rear hole... then it will be a piece of cake to take out...

srry for craptastic cell phone pics

Often the oil drain bolt & oil filter will be over torquedc from the factory. If you have the right size socket of decent quality it should come right off. At this point I'd suggest that you leave it alone & go some where and have them get it loose for you.

Considering regular oil is $3 a litre in canada and the filter is $5 or more I think I might just get the dealer to do it for $35 and skip the mess! I have an Si.

the ONLY oil filter wrench I will ever own is one like this:

You can buy them at autozone for less than $10 and you will NEVER have to worry about not being able to get a fliter off again!!!

I've got something similar but it has teeth that bite into the filter.

on mine it takes exactly 4 1/2 qrts! alot of people say 5 to 5 1/2 but thats kinda dangerous. personally on my si it tops the full mark with 4 1/2!

If you dont mind regular oil going to the dealer isnt bad at all. My dealer charges 24.99. Now if you want to use Mobile 1 or something like it your going to spend about 32 bucks just for the oil with the filter your up to 40 bucks and thats without labor.

people, if u are struggling to get the drain bolt and oil filter off, ur putting it way too tight. both should be placed on nice and snug, to where it should not take much effort to loosen both, but at the same time dont put it on so lightly to where it'll unscrew itself and fall off.

This did absolutely nothing for my stock filter other than turn uselessly. They couldn't even make the socket hole deep enough to properly connect the 3/8th socket wrench. I got my 6$ back on this after complaining. A piece of crap.

the one i purchased is similar in theory but it actually has 3 prongs/hooks that tighten as u turn the ratchet. it works like a charm but ofcourse the first time is a bit hard. u have to put some elbow grease into it and it will come right off.

for some reason when i commented on his earlier post it showed the tool i used and then outa nowhere the image changed. site where he got it from prob changed or he changed the pic.
