either oil will work. 5w-20 is used for better miles per gallon.

5 qrts gets me to the full mark on the dip stick......with a Mobil 1 filter.

I did my 9th oil and filter change last weekend and I used a set of ramps for the first time (the ramps get the front wheels up about 5" from the ground). All of my prior oil changes were done using jack stands (I'm not sure how high the front was up). Anyway, my Si took 5.25 quarts to get it to the fill mark (I checked the level both when hot and when cold). I found the need to add an add'l 1/4 qrt a little odd. I must just have to do with the ramps vs. place stands and the fact that I let it drain for about 1 hour vs. my normal 15 minutes.

You're supposed to measure the oil when the car is level, not on stands or ramps. You will not get an accurate reading if the car is tilted.

Agreed. However you can get an accurate reading if the car is resting on 4 jack stacks, (all at equal height on a level surface).

Sorry, I was not clear. It was on the ground (on a level garage floor) when I checked it. It was only on the ramps when I drained it and replaced the filter. I'm soooo extreme when I replace my MTF (it's up on four stands when I pump the new fluid in) that I actually check the front to rear and left to right level using a 4' long carpenters......and shim the jack stands accordingly.
